President Boris Tadić appeared in a Belgrade court today and accepted responsibility for breaking the law by drinking champagne after a football match.
Why can't you see it is a joke that the president can be prosecuted over a trivial matter in accordance with a law that did not intend that. Only in Serbia, with a glass of champagne, would the president be prosecuted.
That is the joke. And I bet some defend this by saying one law for hooligans and another for sipping champagne after a great national achievement represents double standards.
For the considerable time I am adding my comments here on B92 English site and often very much from the view of Serbian emigrant living temporarily here in The Netherlands.
Very often my comments are sharply criticising Dutch discriminatory attitude toward foreigners and particularly toward the Serbians, which I often name as advanced Sepbophobia.
This eve surfing Dutch Web pages and their maybe most prominent daily newspaper online De Volkskrant I manage to find another illustration of this fanatic anti-Serbian propaganda now reaching the level of major political insult:
it goes about Tadic "champagne case" in the article which is like the top anti-Serb propaganda deliberately insultingly named with the major big letters: SERBIAN PRESIDENT HOOLIGAN IN VIP-LOUNGE !
Further comments about Dutch attitude abour Serbians are not needed.
And then Tadic preaches that our politicians should take care what do they say when Dutch Serbophob FM Verhagen visits Belgrade on December 16th ?

So Government and President are proving to us their principles in obeying the Laws in this brain-washing case which should not be even mentioned (he is President so he can cheer the Serbian football victory with the glass of champagne...what a big deal...no-one cares), but on the other side that same Government today removed from the Parliament procedure budget balance for 2008 which shows crucial and important Government money misuse.

Well, let me tell you Dacic, giving actually asking to give the fingerprints is the classical case of intruding in the citizens privacy, but that is sure too much elaborated for your concept of democracy in order that you could understand.
That's why in Europe most Governments cannot get away with it with their populations!!!
