he was within your grasp, and you did indeed kill him in dec 2005. it was quickly realized that you would have to pull out of the area once people saw that osama was either killed or captured. and the puppeteers can't have that. the show must go on. serioulsy though, if he is still alive, how hard is it to find someone that has to be hooked up to a dialysis machine 8 hours per day. i would just look for the really long extension cord going into a cave. or just check that dubai hospital he was at on sept 10th / 2001.

The then U.S. Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld expressed concern at the time that a large U.S. troop presence in the area could provoke a backlash and he said the evidence about Bin Laden's location was not conclusive.

If Bin Ladan's whereabouts were deemed to be conclusive the next step would've been his elimination which wouldn't fit with the neocons
policy of continuation with the war of terror.

Bin laden's basic philosophy is not anti-capitalist,in other words he's not against the system that made him and his family very wealthy but he is anti-US hegemony in Islamic lands.

The same philosophy is shared by millions os Muslims in Europe who hate the West, yet are happy to use all the benefits of a free education, free healthcare, income support, and live under the freedom of a liberal democracy, while demand the end to Western infidel's way of life.

I think this whole "war on terror" policy is one big ploy, with Western politicians trying to convince the public that there is a bogey man out there, so they will happily hand over their civil liberties and freedoms, just so they can get that "New World Order" in place.

"...U.S. forces had Osama Bin Laden "within their grasp" in Afghanistan in late 2001, a U.S. Senate report says.

It says calls for U.S. reinforcements were rejected..."

>>> Clear as a single beautiful sunny day and very well known to anyone who wanted to use the brain and think.

Bush and his team never wanted to get him in the first place, because Bush did not have a bare chance to stay on power if he would not present "more less" all the rest of the World to be terrorist and consequently frighten "dummy patriotic" US public of "constant treat" to their "mighty" nation and keep them in the military "high alert" with him as "patriotic strong" leader to protect them.
That was the only way to defocus the nation and the World from his genuine intellectual and moral leader's deficiency.
That is why Osama had to live.

And now when it is known that "someone" rejected reinforcement, that "someone" will "loose his head"? Don't think so.
Running of politics "Nixon style", or better said traditional US style, is in full of its glory.

The US couldn’t grab its backside if it had a flashlight and a road map. This reminds me of the fishermen’s tale about the one that got away and as the telling was repeated the fish got bigger and bigger. Yes, Osama was in a cave in Tora Bora and how did they know about it – well there was a post box outside the cave with Osama’s name on it.
The statement “vast array of American military power... was kept on the sidelines” is ludicrous. Using this equipment would be like hitting a puddle of water with a sledge hammer with no effect. To use military on the ground, well we all know how good the American’s are in precision tactics – it would have been a bloodbath for the US, even Rumsfeld could see that scenario coming on. What’s even worse the US talks like the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan is separated by a little white picket fence instead of some of the most inhospitable terrain in the world that suits guerrilla warfare to a tee.
The British are much better at this sort of game, but they are smart enough to know the results even before contemplating such a suicidal mission. They spent a couple of hard years fighting these people in the Kyber Pass in the 19 Century and found the going a little tough.
If the US wanted to capture Osama they should have done it in June 2001, when the CIA when to visit his in hospital after his kidney operation, but they didn’t. Boys hasn’t that fired some conspiracy theories.
