>>>Yep, flew few times from Istanbul to Amsterdam.
Too, tooooo long flight to be with Turkish.
They serve the food like on the Bazar...looks like they are preparing it on the plane itself actually: all plane was stinking all the way after serving that food till the Amsterdam's landing.
Must share I did not like the smell of that turkish goelash at all.

It looks like not many of you have been flying Turkish airline..., put aside your ego, they are one of the best in europe now, I've been flying with them 100ds of times, had great time, even Swiss is looking pale next to them. Moreover the food is simply outstanding...

Why not? Contrary to some belief on this board, we are not under turkish occupation anymore. Grow up and learn that there is nothing wrong with economic/business cooperation.

To tell the truth, given the choice JAT belonging to someone in Tirana or to someone in Ankara - I would even prefer Tirana.

But of course, the best match would be Athens ;-)

Every Balkan country suffered 500 years from Ottoman "blessing" and I don't really want more of Ottoman influence.

From all possible airline choices (alliance with US, alliance with EU, alliance with future EU, alliance with India) the alliance with Turkey is politically the worst and from technical point of view rather questionable. The gain from Turkish point of view is obvious: even Russia or Israel will be earlier in EU than Turkey.

Better not.
They have lousy flying record: just some half a year ago, due to the mistake of their pilot, they landed on the field instead to the track of Amsterdam, Schipol Airport.
Afterwords their Government, with a kind of patriotic Muslim fundamentalistic approach, refused all the findings of independent commission blaming Turkish pilot, portrating him as a "proud of Turkish nation"?

What is Jat planning to do? Get involved with semi-military Government-run, possibly fundamentalistic, Muslim organisation?

Ridiculous.
