Sj,

First, as to China, I've been there not less than 15 times, both for personal and professional (2 years) purposes and grew up in Paris close to Chinese community. I'd not presume your knowledges as regards that country (as you wrongly do with me) but do not even try to teach me lessons, unless you're a well-known sinologist.
It's a fact that Chinese are very wise people and quite aware of their past, especially during Western rule down there. As I've previously said they'll not forget but nor are they systematically thinking about bloody and blind revenge, and this just because, as I said, they're wise people...exactly the contrary of Serbs and alcoholic Russians.
Following such an aim would mean allday tensions, wars, and first of all no prosperity. They know at best that in the world they also decided to integrate and to live in, prosperity comes from cooperation since global economy means interdependence: for instance, the US perhaps rely on Chinese cash flow but China rely on the West to buy its goods; do you really think that impoverished and middle-ages ex-USSR area and Africa can replace the 1 billion inhabitants western market ???

As to UK/US ties, I know you and your fellow citizens can't see the countries that bombed Serbia other than through servant/master sight since your hatred is so strong that it blinds you and I feel sorry you're so internally-disturbed and tortured...it must be so hard...
You say that Bush threatened Brown to withdraw all its investments from UK if he decided to get out of Iraq ??
You probably don't catch the info in your Russian newspapers...but he indeed got his troops out of Iraq...and just explain me how Bush could have been able to force thousands of PRIVATE companies to abandon such a market. it may happen quite easily in a stalinist publicly-owned economy as the Russian one...
Americans and Europeans have history, roots, culture, values, political and economical systems (...) in common, which of course doesn't mean we can't have different point of view on any matter...that's Democracy (google it...).

And as to Russian arms...hahaha, I can just strengthen my previous comments...they're indeed allmost rubbish. If you want to compare them with western arsenal...let's just have a look at a very active theater in which that comparison was easy to admire: Israeli-arab wars, all of them showed the ABSOLUTE SUPREMACY of the US armament. The F-16s and F-15s have been ridiculing all types of Russian planes.
And i saw that you worry about the next generation US fighter which, according to you, has never taken off; sorry but, first there's not one next generation fighter but 2: F-22 and F-35 and I'm mistaken there are not next generation fighters but current generation...Indeed, Russian newspapers probably once again weren't able to catch the info but these both planes have already concluded all technical tests and been ordered by the US, of course, and all NATO countries that were, in a way, involved in its conception (more than 2000 F-35 actually) such as UK, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Turkey etc.... And you know what ?? They're so advanced that their utility was once questioned because of an obvious lack of potential contenders in a medium future.
Of course, I trust you when you tell me that Indonesia brouht Mig-29s...but I can assure you it has nothing to do with performance (how can a rubbish 30 years-old plane even think of competing against a 5th generation fighter ??!!!). Such a country can't even dream of affording such technological jewels nor are the US interesting in offering it to them. The F-22, as its predecessor (F-15) is intended ONLY for the strongest America's allies (Japan, UK, Israel and Saudi Arabia).
Russian have not produced anything new for a while, even Russian specialists don't even try to hide that...cf RIA Novosti). They're thinking of buying French Mistral-class amphibious hips (what a shame for an ex-superpower) All their "new products" are just refurbished old systems (Mig 35: ex-Mig 29, S-400: ex S-300 etc....). In this way, they're just good at supplying impoverished third-world armies.

What I just wrote explains partly why Chinese have since now bought Russian arms: 1) they couldn't afford better , 2)because of Cold War and Tienanmen, US/EU refused to sell them anything...But now, its done, Russians are more and more useless, China produced itself everything: war planes (J-10), tanks, even Submarines. And so will India in a few days.

Albanians have nothing to be afraid of. Russia, as we can see will remain what is currently is: a medium frustrated mono-industry country... and please stop bothering us with your ridiculous idea of Russia (140 impoverished inhabitants) controlling EU (600 millions wealthy inhabitants). Russia has only gas (forget oil) and can't threat us of cutting supplies...even Stalin and Brejnev didn't dare and Why ??? Because just as Poutine...it's his ONLY source of income.

Would be pleased to hear of you again...I like our debate...

I suggest that you read my earlier statment carefully as you have gone off on a tangent.
You guys have no clues about China, but I do. I know how these people think and rest assured that they have little liking for your democratic/freedom loving US of A. In addition China has a bigger middle class than the US. Of course they will sell goods to both the US and EU just as Iran sells its oil to Europe – it’s called business. China is rearming itself not against the Russians, but against the US.
Your opening comment explains all that you know or understand about US/UK relationship. There is no strategic partnership between them; it’s called a servant/master relationship. For your information on Gordon Brown taking over from Blair he wanted to withdraw British troops from Iraq, George Bush told him in no uncertain terms that if he did that then the US would withdraw all investment out of the UK and it would be on par with Albania.
Australia has bought Chinese made railway rolling stock for its state of NSW; it’s called business and you buy it where you can get the best deal.

Technology is not the sole province of the EU, US, China or Russia. None can make everything that works well. Even the Russians buy Rolls Royce engines for their aircraft, so what is the problem there? Also, your precious western technology is all made in China!
It just shows what miserable person you are by making light of 25 deaths from a terrorists attack on the Moscow to St Petersburg line.
Yes Medvedev has been warning Russians that things have to change and they do, but has your Albanian President done to change the lives of your fellow country men and women – I have not read anything about that, maybe he is too busy selling Heroin.
Rubbish arms eh! You might read Jessica Lynch’s story about her very first days in Iraq and capture and about her weapon “her weapon jammed immediately”.. That weapon was an M16. US soldiers used AK 47s in the initial days of the war because their US made weapons were useless. Get you facts right. Once again you show how little you know about manufacturing. China does not make “make copies of weapons they own” they pay a licence fee just like India. For your further information the new US and super strategic fighter is a piece of junk even the retired senior Australian air force personnel have openly stated that Indonesia, which bought some Mig 29s, were superior aircraft and this super fighter has not even taken off the ground yet.

I could debate this till the cows come home, but all I can say is that you Albanians are very afraid of the Russians, very afraid indeed. But no amount of fear will stop them from taking control of the EU.

But not in Russia. Russia is a laggard, not taken seriously like China and India.

I see. So that is why China has formed an alliance with Russia. Because it's a joke.
I wonder why they don't want any alliance with the US. You know, the serious partner.

You can combine Russia, China and India togther and still are no match for USA. An average American lives better than a above average Russian,Chinamen and Indian. as far as military wise there is no need to even talk about it.
(Kosova-USA, 27 November 2009 17:15)

Which average American are you talking about?
The newly homeless one or the one who has been homeless for a very long time?
More and more American children are relying on schools to feed them and allow them to shower there because their parents no longer can.

America looks good in Hollywood movies and shows. That's what they are good at, but America has just as many homeless and poor as Russia would.

CG,

Two observations:
- Your comment that the Russians "qicked Hungary really badly" means that you fully approved the brutal use of naked force by an imperialist power against a small country. That tells a lot about your "democratic" thinking.
- The events of 1956 forced me to quit Hungary as a teenager. I expected a lot of struggle and problems. It was not easy at the beginning but with hard work (learning first French in record time) and able to continue my studies it turned out far, far better than expected. After 15 successful years in France and Germany I became even more successful in New York. If not "1956" my life would have been completely different, very low class Central European, but probably better than the average Russian. And during the last few decades I was also able to help financially not just my relatives but also many poor Hungarians. I discribed it not to breg about my life story but to show you that what you described sarcastically as kicking in the rear-end turned out to be a true success story.

The biggest proof for Russia becoming a superpower again is that the Western press runs every day stories about Russia critizizing it.
That is a very good sign.
Here is a newsflash for Joe and lili:
Russia and China are allies in the SCO which is a military alliance,China will be the worlds biggest market by 2015 while Russia has gigantic resources and is diversyfying its economy.
Then they will together dump the dollar as the worlds reserve currency which will give the American economy the rest.
As for Joe,he cannot forget the year 1956 when somebody got kicked really badly by Russians...

Ildi,

You are absolutely right about those dreamy schemes of China / Russia. China is growing and very selfconscious. They don't even consider Russia as a junior partner. Also they didn't forget that Russia took their Northern Maritime provinces in the XIX century. You hear about Russia mainly because of her nuclear arsenal inherited from the Sovietunion. Otherwise Russia is hardly more than a row materials supplying third world country like Mexico or Iran with a very low living standard and life expectation. It is a shame that despite all that mineral and natural richess that country was never able to offer to its citizens a higher living standard.

Sj,

We all know that not only History matters when it comes to strategic partnerships...otherwise how can you explain the strong ties between the US and UK ? Didn't the US fight against English rule ? Didn't they hate the English ?...of course they did....DID...now they have common geopolitical and economic interests...
The same applies to China...they indeed had problematic relations with Europeans in the past...but it's the PAST...even if they'll probably not forget...they will put it aside in an attempt to benefit from what European Union has to offer...and it, but also the US, has a lot to offer...let's just mention a 600 millions (1 billion with the US) of consumers....wealthy consumers...it's not a secret that the big majority of Chinese exports have the US and EU for destination....not Russia and its poor 130 millions alcoholic inhabitants, which number dramatically decreases every year.
Let's also mention the unique level of technological knowhow within the EU and US...Chinese buy german high-speed trains (no point mentioning the Russian Railways...just look at the news today), Chinese buy US Boeing and EU Airbus planes....not rubbish Illiouchins or Tupolevs (once again...have a look at the news)...etc ...etc

Of course, Europe can not run its industry without gas and oil....but can Russia reasonnably stop supplying EU ?? Is there a single part of the World that can absorb the quantity a 600 millions wealthy inhabitants area consums ?? Of course not...not even China...and even if it could we all know that the suitable pipelines network towards South East still doesn't exist...allmost all pipelines finished or U/C are directed towards EU.
And supposing Russia stops supplying...what about its incomes ?? what may replace the incomes from Gas and Oil ? Vodka (even Suedish one is better), their rubbish arms ??
Russia, all specialists know it, has dramatically turned into a Mono-industry country like Middle East contries...but Middle east countries have only 3 or 10 or maximum 30 millions of inhabitants to take care of...
Even Medvedev recognised it last week, during its speech on Nation's state...He told the world that Russian economy is critically to dependent on comodities and urged deep reform.

And as to the China-Russia relationship...we also all know that it's not honeymoon...Russian have only their eyes to cry when they look at Chinese copying all the weapons they once bought from Russia. Should they protest ?? yeah, dream on...
The only one thing that gathered Russia and China, in the past, was fake ideology and the idea of a common threat...but as I said that's the Past...
Comparing US/EU economy to Russian one just because of gas...is a complete joke !!

China is too strong and not that naive to even consider Russia as its equal. China knows far well it can crush Russia like a miserable spider. China knows even better that the main opportunities and markets are EU and US with their high tech knowhow and high purchase power.

Russia is out of the Superpowers' deal, it's only a medium power...the only thing it can rely on is its nuclear arsenal....something, of course, it will never have the guts to use....

It's true Russia provides EU with gas and oil but the percentage doesn't exceed 25% and Russia has no other sources of income (except Vodka) while many other countries, especially in Middle East, are on the starting blocks to supply us...
(Ildi, 27 November 2009 23:31)

And you think that China has a particular liking for the US or EU. I suggest that you read up on Chinese history and see how much they really like your US or EU. About 10 years ago China relied on the EU/US for export now it’s the opposite. I can tell you that China thinks more of Russia than both the US or EU combined.
This just shows how stupid you really are by making a statement like “the only thing it can rely on is its nuclear arsenal....something, of course, it will never have the guts to use” Do you think anyone would use nuclear weapons, even your Americans would think many times before going down that path.
From your comments here I can only judge that you have emigrated to the west and work in some very menial job. How do you think the EU will run its industry without energy? Russia has mineral wealth that only Australia comes close to in comparison. France has now signed with Russia for gas supplies using the south stream pipeline. The Russians have learnt their lessons well and are allowing private enterprise in their country, but on their terms not the Corporation’s.
Let’s look at “while many other countries, especially in Middle East, are on the starting blocks to supply us”..Saudi Arabia; the US has to get out its becoming too dangerous because of terrorism; Iraq, well they have done their dash there, the largest reconstruction contracts have all gone to China and Russia, even Serbia is getting a bigger slice of that pie than the UK. Central Asia is held firmly by the Russians and the Chinese are cultivating Africa. You might want a drink of Vodka after reading this.
Iraq and Afghanistan has finished the US and EU.

If the US manages to extract itself out of Iraq and Afghanistan at best it will never be the same power and it will become an isolationist society let alone make any difference in the world.
By 2012, you will see major changes folding in the world and you Albanians will regret the day you backed the wrong side. You guys can take trick can you! Kosovo is going nowhere, doing nothing without Serbia so you keep dreaming on about US greatness.

-- Maybe it's the tryptophan in the Thanksgiving turkey that's doing the talking, but I agree (partially) with Kosova-USA's comment. Good strategic relations with the United States is naturally in Serbia's favor, especially as the US seems to be caring less and less about absolute gains the the Balkans. My country has already agreed to disagree with Belgrade over Kosovo, so there's no heavy hand of Washington holding Serbia over the fire. Why not cooperate? Washington loves to choose and drop allies at moment's notice when it suits their interests, so Belgrade might as well set itself up for a potential realignment of interests in the future.

As for the military statement, that's becoming less and less of a relevant factor in determining superpower status. With all of our military sophistication, we can't seem to stem the tide of a ragtag group of militants in Afghanistan armed with little more than a bazooka and a Toyota pickup truck. It's all about economic factors of which my country is still a leading player, but is having to share the hill with rising powers in Latin America and East Asia.

Forgotten? NEVER!

Only what US wants, is to sell us the products of their "military industry of death" and keeps us dependable on that way, with Nato membership or without, and to get maybe our soldiers to fight their neo-colonial wars.
Only what US can get from us in this natter is, NOTHING.

Only what will happen to present "ruling parties" is, that they will never ever be even the option for the vote in any of coming elections.

We all know that not only History matters when it comes to strategic partnerships...otherwise how can you explain the strong ties between the US and UK ? Didn't the US fight against English rule ?

Forgotten?

"You can combine Russia, China and India togther and still are no match for USA. An average American lives better than a above average Russian,Chinamen and Indian. as far as military wise there is no need to even talk about it." (Kosova-USA)
