Joining the EU is the best way forward for Serbia - the sooner the better.

People are not that interested in the issues that drive the embittered nationalists - people would rather get on with their lives and make a decent living.

This is not however an acceptance of a separate Kosovo state. Many Serbs accept that it is not pragmatic to expect a change to 1244 - but that is not the same as accepting another separate Albanian run state.

The EU still thinks it is punishing Serbia for the terrible things that happened ten or so years ago.

Serbia must join the EU, but with respect for its attitude to its territorial integrity shown by EU politicians. Yes there must be pragmatics, but no there must be an end to any further thought of humiliation.

It would help if Mladic was arrested. It is no humiliation for Serbia to arrest its criminals.

Rick,

If you cannot see the mass of opportunity for the youth of Serbia as part of the EU then no one will persuade you otherwise. Every country in the EU has to have give and take - if that is being a traitor then fair enough. At the end of the day Serbia is falling behind many of its neighbours and that is a crying shame with such potential. Serbia would thrive in the EU.

Her Djelic....please STOP trying to convince everyone how much YOU wish to become a "generic European" and to denounce your own nationality and sovereignty. You truly sound more like a used car salesman than a true Serbian statesman....willing to "sell out" your people and your honour for whatever "they" are promising you.
