Joe,

First of all before educating others try to learn correct english spelling as a good citizen of USA.Otherwise please tell me how it is possible that your high society friends both from france and US who tasted hungarian cuisine have a very good opinion about it.You remind me anyway the little Szabolcs county peasant who hit the road and the poor guy belives to know everything better just because he saw a little more than other szabolcs county peasents.Your comments reflect a person full of inferiority complexes
who is neither accepted by Yanks nor by hungarians and I form this opinion having read some of your comments on certain hungarian forums where your snobish style is also ridiculed.

szemi,

Don't try to play the citizen of a reach country like Switzerland or Norway. Before you go into any typical Hungarian type of bregging remember that I am one of the readers, who knows perfectly how bad - almost catastrophic - is the situation in Hungary.
By the way what is so special about a regional soup and a pancake? Sure it is better than puliszka, sultkrumpli, nyogvenyelo. Next time you will breg about toltottkaposzta I am not no crazy about either. Most Hungarians are convinced that they have an "haute cuisine". That was my conviction too until as a high school student I arrived in France and noticed the difference between a fatty, unhealthy one and a real "haute cuisine".

“Obama says China's partnership is critical in ending the current global economic recession”.

It says it all.

And "only" 17 millions americans didn't have enough to eat in 2008, yes indeed, a lot of to clean at home!!
(The Swiss, 17 November 2009 12:59)

“The number of Americans who lack dependable access to adequate food shot up last year to 49 million, the largest number since the Government has been keeping track” - Washington Post, 18 November 2009.

It also says it all. The figure is probably higher, but like unemployment numbers no government likes to reveal the true figure either.

"the americans are ussing 100 dollar note for toilets paper (hazel)"

-- On one level, I'm kind of flattered some people still think of us like this. I mean there are certainly high quality brands of toilet paper out there that cost enough for one to get the satisfaction of knowing their hind quarters are treated so well. We have indeed come a long way from using pages in old Sears catalogues. Yet on another level, perhaps hazel is a bit more metaphoric than we give her credit for. The idea of consumption in the US has taken over issues such as health care, social justice, employment and such. We are, in a way, flushing money down the toilet and always expect a new roll to appear the next morning because some Mexican replaced it.

Ever been in that situation however where you run out of toilet paper in the middle of a deposit? We get pretty damn helpless. And immobile. Particularly when there's no Sears catalogues around.

As to hunger thanks god I do not know that phenomenon.Just an hour ago I had a good palóc soup and a portion of Gundel pancakes.I know this kind of food is unknown to both junk eating americans and albanians.

However, while extolling the benefits of ties with Beijing, Obama made clear that when there are differences, he will speak up with China's leaders. He talked about human rights in general, and Tibet in particular

I think mr Obama should put his own house in order before he starts criticising the human rights records of other countries.

Human rights are universal and not selective. You cannot preach them while your country practises rendition, detention and torture at Guatanamo and is involved killing people in Iraq and Afghanistan, threatening Iran, strangling Cuba, supporting Israel and different dictatorial regimes. That is pure hypocricy.
