Zoran,

I like example of Cleaning lady i have had a Hungarian and a Rumanian they do a great job :).

Unless you move to UK in EU you need the language German, Spanish French etc and no way they will give you a job over the native. In france company has to prove that this job can not be filled by a French person.

Mirica here keeps beating the EU drum i guess when u come from a place like Rumania even you cant belive you joined, we all know u should have not joined and are not much better than the rest of Balkans.

Why did yugoslavia have those draging wars and today we would not have a Rumanian telling us about EU.

Mircea, if Serbia gets visa free travel and the free trade agreement then it won't be too different to what Romania has. Personally, the right to work in the EU is not a great benefit when a country experiences a brain drain. I was employing qualified Eastern European professionals in the UK to clean my house and toilet. That is not something I would like to see Serbians do. Romania is blessed not to have the right to work. I suspect it had one of the highest economic growth rates in the EU because of that.

Finally, there's not a big difference travelling with a passport or ID card. We don't have ID cards in the UK so we have to travel with our passports anyway. I'm sure the Serbians won't care either.

>>> Not exactly and again. Mircea.

Turkey will be offered special status next year, so not anymore EU membership, which will understand everything apart of right to vote in EU.
Initiative will be by Sarkozy who never wanted Turkey in the EU in the fist place.

That can do very great for us too.

Rest of your "childish" argument about traveling with ID or passport or without I have mentioned in the previous post already = better keep your ID always on you!
Being found without one, fine is from eur 50 to start.

>>> 100% right, Zoran.

Here am I too, back in Serbia in max 3 years time.
Then positive example to help depressed and disillusioned conytyman minds back home: will be cleaning up and painting bright with my bare hands and if it is necessary alone, my future base, beautiful Grocka to bring it in its deserved beauty.

We alone can do all. Need EU for nothing.

Zoran,

If visa free travel will be approved for Serbia, Serbian citizens will need a passport to travel to EU Member States.

Serbian citizens cannot use their identity card to enter EU Member States.

Also, Serbian citizens will not be allowed to work and settle in EU Member States.

Romanian citizens only need their identity card to enter other EU Member States.

Romanian citizens have the right to settle everywhere in the EU. Currently, Romanian citizens are allowed to work in 16 EU Member States.

On 1 January 2014 Romanian citizens will be allowed to work in every EU Member State.

There is a big difference between being an EU Member State and being outside the EU.

Well Mass, Serbia's steps toward EU, allowed and planed by EU, are sucha epically slow that for the majority of the Serbians EU belongs to the one of the Greek epical legends...it is not gonna happen in the course of our lifetime.

Surely very much in the contrary with the ambitious Marshall plan which rebuilt Germany in top-speed after Germans WWII collective crime.

Somehow disproportion is sucha striking for average thinking Serbians, that we cannot digest it at all...though our stomachs are quite tough on EU injustice toward Serbians.

What about if we just forget it all about?
We are happy to be able to travel and trade free and around.

This whole EU joining process is costing Serbia dearly. With the unilateral implementation of the SAA, Serbia is now handing over €500 million a year to the EU. If we become full members, Serbia will have a brain drain - where our brightest will leave and start cleaning toilets and working in factories in the EU.

I have returned to Serbia after living in the West for most of my life and I would urge others to do the same. We can make positive changes here instead of having our brightest leave.

Serbia is a great and tolerant country with so much potential. We don't need to become full EU members. Visa free travel and a free trade agreement is enough.
