Pete,

I agree with you to stop begging the Serbs to partecipate in the coming Kosova's local elections. They can make up their minds whether to run their everyday lifes and they do not have to put the blame on Albanians for their "misery".
You are right you can't have both ways. Decentralisation mean recongising Kosova's insitutions.

Kosovo Serbs hang in there all of Serbia all of Republic of Srpska all the Serbs around this world are with you. You are true heroes for denying an illegal country and fighting for freedom. Hats off!!! all of Serbs are with you!!

Most Serbs here have gotten it right: These are sham elections when it comes to the Serb minority, we just want to say "Serbs participated." They have many freedoms in the munis as long as they don't violate the constitution. (For example you can't deny Albanians or Croats or Gorani or Bosniaks a right to buy land or build in Gracanica) The best part is that the Albanian run Supreme Court decides what's constitutional.

Ultimately, Serbs make 5% and have largely been abandoned by Serbia so there are no good choices for them.

Mr. Peter Pack, do go away. How many times are you going to plead here. Serbs are not going to vote because if they do they will lose a helluva lot more than what you say.

Why do you care so much?

My advice to the Serbs of Kosovo is treat the sham 'authorities' in Pristina with the contempt they deserve by ignoring them. The American puppetmasters, who are the real power in Kosmet, are desperate for the remaining Serbs to participate in their plans so as to lend some sort of legitimacy to their surrogates. Once they participate in the vote and recognition by default, they will simply become subsumed and eventually disappear. The Albanians hope to rid themselves of every last vestige of a Serbian presence in Kosmet. Don't give them that evil satisfaction.

???? There are serb authorities in Štrpce and Novo Brdo. Like in North Mitrovica, Leposavić, Zubin Potok, Zvečan or Gračanica. They were formed after last year local elections - and they are recognized by UNMiK and EULEX.

Again, I strongly urge Feith to go to these Serb municipalities in person and talk to the Serb community leaders. It's nice of him to give back more territory to K Serbs, it really is. But delegating from his throne in Pristina will not increase the incentive for the Serbs to vote. They're supposed to teachnically be the most institutionally and politically privileged minority anywhere in the world, right? Well throwing a couple of institutions at them and saying "here, now work with us", isn't going to cut it. If anything, these newly designed municipalities will be utilized along with the rest of Serbia, making any potential Albanian official in these parts, about as useless and ineffective as the "mayor" of Pristina (a nice guy, very jovial, but has a lot of time on his hands as one could imagine).

Power to govern is given by the people to the government. K albs are not going to get this from the Serbs.
Hope they do show up on that day to chant "Kosovo is Serbia" not to vote.

Feith is an agent of the Ahtisarri Plan, therefore any advice he gives to the Kosovo Serbs is clearly not in their best interests. The Serbian people of the province only need to concern themselves with their own legitimate elections that are endorsed by the nation’s government in Belgrade.
