Some articles of the statute envisage opening of offices in Vienna, Brussels, Paris and Moscow and conclusion of international agreements, he said, adding that the offices "might become diplomatic missions in the future".

I can smell something is cooking.
(Kosova-USA, 6 November 2009 10:02)

You enjoy in this aren't you!

Well I'm sorry but I'm gonna dissapoint you. You see that paper is altered and Vojvodina cannot sign any agreement with foreign countries but only with regions in those countries. That's different. No big deal Republika Srpska have also that kind of relations too. Just like Istria and some cantons in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

And Kosovo is not state let alone independent. It's full protectorate. That so called independent state doesn't have jurisdiction on the entire territory and it won't have ever.

"...We did not accept to erase a whole series of institutions that had been declared problematic in public, but which are important for a better life for Vojvodina's citizens," Pajtić stated..."

>>> Vojvodina citizens are something else (better) then the rest of Serbia's citizens so they "deserve" another (better) set of rules and regulations?

What do we do: making first and the second class citizens?

This statute is anti-democratic and unconstitutional and SNS, DSS and another parties should do everything in their power to block it now...or to delete it once when they come on the power.

There are no "Vojvodina citizens" in that sense, but only Serbian citizens.Take it or leave it, Pajtic!

I find it funny how representative offices are seen as a sign of independence. So by his logic various U.S. states, Canadian provinces, Russian federal subject, Chinese provinces, Japanese prefectures, and Bavaria are independent states.

Anyways. This is a continuation of the last year. Autonomists and some DS members to appeal to autonomist voters pass something, higher ups bringing into line with constiution and then one side cries the other gives concessions and this idiocy back and forth goes on and on.

Me too, but that smell is probably rotten and the food is poisoned.

enough with these money hungary governments of that province the people must speak. i dont knw if they know but 75%+ are serbs in the province

(gajo, 6 November 2009 15:59)

Gajo, that was Freudian comment, please read it again. There is an extra "a" in one word out there.
In any case who has that extra "a" are in minority since 1700 and all their status in that kitchen is assistant cook at best. The rotten food is cooked by local power and money-hungry (without "a") Serb (+some few Hungarian) fat cats. The goal is not "lesser Serbia", not even "bigger Hungary" - but "fatter fat kitty".

The "independent" Belarus / Ukraine / XYZ-Stans begun precisely that way. So watch out for good old communists who are now businessmen.

-------

By the way I have never held a Yugo or Serb passport. I have only two, one from US and one from Kosova.
(Kosova-USA, 6 November 2009 13:33)

And you immigrated from YU to USA (according your earlier words) in 1970-s using what kind of document??? A stateless document issued by USA or a refugee document? Refugee from where? (We are talking 1970-s) You confuse me, but this site is not about you, so fine, no obligation to answer. It's just puzzling tough.

-------

Possession of a passport or not doesn't necessarily equate to citizenship.

If you were born in Kosovo then you were at birth a citizen of Serbia and/or Yugoslavia and have a Unique Master Citizen Number.

(PJD, 6 November 2009 16:12)

This is AFAIK correct. Unless K-U was born somewhere else and immigrated from, say, Curacao via Shanghai - like some Latvian Jews did after WW-II. But that was a very famous adventure.

---------

I would say that the answer is more hours than he spends working. Funny how a country that he claims not be part of consumes him, no?

(Jason, 6 November 2009 17:19)

If he was adult immigrating to USA in 1970-s all he needs is probably to hang out on this site and take care about grandkids.

After two decades of work in the States you can get your social security taking care about your life in Kosovo for four extra decades.

And if you got some good 401K or similar, than your kids are safe, too.

All you need to do is to visit B92 forum and complain about Serbs ;-)

"Albanians are majority in Kosova, and I mean over 90%."

Albanians are actually a minority in Serbia, including Kosovo, of less than 20%.

If I draw a circle around myself I can get a 100% percent majority.

Jason mate, don't waste your time with this guy. He obviously has no clue what the Vojvodina statues provide, and even less understanding of what they mean. The main contention in Belgrade is between those in favor of decentralization (Tadic) and those in favor of continued centralization (DSS, SNS). Nowhere in any of these drafts does anything even closely resembling a "state within a state" look likely. Rather, the bill facilitates Vojvodina to have a greater say over its own economic interests. Novi Sad cannot legislate bills that conflict with Belgrade. It can only modify bills. And I suspect the same provisions will be provided to Kosovska Mitrovica in the near future.

But as you know Jason, certain people here have a difficult time reading articles, and have openly proclaimed their ignorance in understanding Serbian politics and the Serbian language. The constant squwaking by these little kids about Vojvodina being independent, is little more than efforts to annoy due to the absence of knowledge.

Kosovo-USA, as a citizen of Serbia you should feel free to comment here about your Vojvodina. However, you should also listen to your fellow citizens who have resoundingly not been in favor of becoming a separate state. You see, the majority there are SERBS so your argument is quite ridiculous.
