Once more with feeling. The most recent EUROPOL report 'European Organised Crime Threat Assessment' (OCTA) 2009 clearly says that the albanians control the traffiking business in the Balkans. Or are they just big Serb supporters? Not to let facts get in the way or anything!

OGC = Organized Crime Groups, IN-SO = Influence Societies and Economies

P.16
"The South East criminal hub is very active in both producing various commodities and acting as a busy transit, warehousing and re-packaging zone. There are at least three main feeders and relevant routes directly influencing the South East criminal hub:North (the Ukraine and Moldova),Centre (Western Balkans) and South (Turkey).

The significance of the port of Constanta in the cocaine traffic is growing, and cocaine seems to be increasingly arriving in the EU through Turkey and/or the Balkans. This may be due to the increased involvement of Turkish and ethnic Albanian groups in the cocaine distribution chain, but may also be the effect of the already well-established role of West Africa as a transit zone."

P.23

"The most active OC groups involved in trafficking human beings in the EU are Bulgarian, Nigerian and Romanian. Groups from other Balkan countries, China, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam are also frequently reported. Albanian OC groups tend to exploit victims trafficked by other groups."

P.33

"There are at least three main feeders and relevant routes directly influencing the South East criminal hub: ...

Centre (the Balkans):Albania,Kosovo/Serbia, Montenegro and FYROM Origin and/or transit point for cannabis products,i llegal immigrants/victims of trafficking, heroin, cocaine, cigarettes, synthetic
drugs and precursors, counterfeit Euros and arms into the EU."

P.34

"Regional distribution in South East Europe seems however still to be in the hands of ethnic Albanian groups, with Albania serving as a pre-gathering and transport centre for the distribution of
heroin into the EU....The South East criminal hub also impacts strongly upon the Southern hub. The links between Albania, the Kosovo region and Italy remain strong in trafficking in human beings,
heroin, cannabis products and increasingly also cocaine while Romania is an important gateway..."

P.37

"The Turkish groups are using Romania and Bulgaria as entry points for heroin into the EU, and are co-operating with ethnic Albanian and Serbian groups who often handle at least certain parts
of the final distribution starting from Albania and the Kosovo region and proceeding via Austria into Western Europe."

P.46

"There are indications suggesting the possibility that IN-SO strategies have been adopted by OCGs run by criminals with Albanian ethnicity or originating from the Caucasus region."

As we know Bulgaria and also Romania are also big players, but they were let into the EU anyway. Standards!

Peggy, for once I agree with your post, which is scary.
But I also noticed in the article, Jeremic seems to be trying to distance Serbia from Kosovo, instead of the "never" rhetoric.

Mr. jeremic failed to tell the truth what took place in Brussels.
He offended K-Serbs by saying that these people are no different than K-Albos that collaborated during Miloshevics time. also, when he said that serbia will neve recognize Kosova, he was clearly told that in EU Parlament you never use the word "Never" when we are talking about balkans.

What on earth has that murder got to do with entry to EU or anything else? Why do you even go there, because I can assure you that nobody will when it comes to EU membership?
Anyway, why does it have to be a murder of a politician in Europe only to determine the worth of a country.

Who killed Kennedy?
Would you put the US in the same garbage bin as Serbia because of that?

Anyway, I agree that Vuk is trying to pull wool over our eyes with this latest stunt. They must be so worried that Tadic will lose the next election so they have to make it look like that Serbia has a shot a getting into EU soon but only with them in government.

If anyone falls for this, they are not thinking straight.

That's because albanians are afraid to stand up against the mafia, aka local government, and organized crime like Dindic did. Besides, albanians are too busy killing Serbs. Once you have finished them off you will turn against your own in the thirst for blood.

Very few things can be vetoed by a pathetic "country" like Cyprus, so Vuk must do what the majority wants.

Thought this was hilarious - one could argue that Kosovo is a pathetic 'country' if in fact it were even a country. Those that live in a glass house shouldn't throw stones. Also remember that Kosovo must do what the EU and Nato want.

Mark,

I'll add,

Who killed the Serbian PM?

no one can remeber when the last time a prime minister of a country in Europe was assasinated.

The hypocrisy coming from the Serb side, never ceases to amaze me.

They keep talking about organised crime in Kosovo, but none of our ministers have been killed.

The political assasinations in Serbia (or by Serbs) are much higher than in any country in the Balkans.

"EULEX's vehicles and property are not being burned or stoned by Serbs, but by [ethnic Kosovo] Albanians, not in Kosovska Mitrovica, but in Priština," the minister noted.

He also said that while the situation in Kosovo is "improving", it is "probably one of the capitals of organized crime in Europe".

The embasies were stoned and burned not by Albanians but by serbs. Not in Pristina but in Belgrade.

Belgrade is one of the capitals of organized crime also. Who wanted to kill the serbian justice minister? Albanians?
