When are we going to pull out of Afghanistan?

Enough is enough!

No-one has been able to control Afghanistan, the British couldn't do it in the 19th Century, the Soviets couldn't do it in the 1980s and now NATO can't do it either. You'd have thought that they would have learned by now.

I don't want to see any more of my country men die in a pointless war.

RIP

"The parallels with Vietnam grow daily"

This still isn't as bad as Vietnam - which averaged like a loss of 10 or more U.S. soldiers per day, every day, for 10 years.
It's still a small fraction of Vietnam when you see their total losses over 8 years versus 8 years in Vietnam.

What a waste of lifes for a lost cause..., another rogue group (the talibans) that went out of US control after the Russian retreated years back.

It is always so sad to see young men and women dying in wars.May these families find the strenght and love to get through these difficult times.

The parallels with Vietnam grow daily, with the West supporting a corrupt dictator who he is on CIA payroll as was with President Thieu of Southern Vietnam.

In Vietnam the politicians were saying that if we did not fight communists there we would have to fight them in our own backyards. The military told us that they were just another battle away from victory.

In Afganistan the politicians are giving us the same BS that unless we stay the course we'll have to fight terrorism on our streets. General Macrystal says he needs more troops to win the war.

The reality is quite different. The American defeat in Vietnam did not lead to the Viet Cong appearing in our backyards and withdrawal from Afganistan is not going to bring the Taliban in our streets.

The simple facts are that there is nothing there to win either Iraq or Afghanistan. The military option is totally unatenable and these malignant narcissists US conservative republicans, as is their status quo just sacrificing soldiers with coercion, reckless abandon and impunity to promote their usual hog wash outward / hypocrite self image of good
verses evil.

This really takes the cake. The British invaders accusing a local of being a rogue. And if those Brits can't stomach the rising number of body bags, they can always pack up and leave.
