Lenard, that reminds me of a group sitting around a table with straws sipping from one cup of coffee. It does not work because Europe requires much more gas to run its industry. Unfortunately you don’t see that to replace the gas from Russia you need at least many more of these super ports, just ask the Chinese they obtain their gas from Australia via super tankers. The infrastructure required is phenomenal and the outlay runs into the hundreds of billions and billions of Euros.

This has an affect on the cost of production and your goods become less desirable. Remember that your competing with the rest of the world and the less you sell the less money in the pocket – ideology takes a back seat where money is concerned.

Russia’s gas is cheaper. In the end the Russians can turn it away from Europe and redirect it to Asia, you know the emerging financial centre of the world. This thing on the island of Krk is only a gesture at best. Like it or not the Russians are here to stay and there is nothing you or I can do about that.

In the first days when temperatures went below 5 degrees this year, Putin sees problems emerging with Ukraine. What a surprise!
Putin is plainly interfering in the electoral battle in Ukraine and we can be sure that he's ready for anything, including cutting the gas again, just to see his puppet win the election.
Things get complicated when one tries to establish the name of the puppet, cause there's also competition for that job.

From your comment I get that you were not in Serbia last winter.

Its good Croatia and a consortium of central European countries are building a Liquefied natural gas super port on the Croatian Island of Krk. Russia can play its childish political nonsense games some were else.
