Bob - do some research of your own on who messed up.

Having said that, the Dutch shouldn't be so righteous just because the Hague Tribunal is there and score some point on the HUman Rights Scoreboard

Then let me replace Ron.... how would you qualify the US and UK Irak invasion, based on now proven lies and fake excuses, and it wasn't nearly 20 years ago...., if you want to talk about international laws, then apply it all around, not only wherever it suits you.

Unless proven to the contrary the kosovo udi was illegal, otherwise it wouldn't have the number 1244, as simple as this.
Yes you would argue that the serbs this the serbs that, I can give you partially credit for that, but then also give credit to the new generation that is looking for a dialogue.

Back in Europe we are all sick and tired of the US "way of imposing", and are welcoming a more balance world.
Some numbers for you, Bush and his criminal crew rating in EU before he was thanks God thrown in the ignorance bean was 12%, vs Obama 85%, let's see how long that will last...

Why does Serbia want to join EU when clearly we have evidence of just how easy it is to be controlled by someone higher on the food chain?

Do the Serbs want to serve some countries till the end of time? We have proof of how things work when you are a member of EU and not that high on the food chain. You are intimidated till you agree to do as you are told. I thought Serbs had a slogan which said Liberty of Death.
What happened to it?

Defence,

Romania started accession negotiations with the EU in 2000 and became a member in 2007. Therefore, it is not easy to join the EU.

If Mladic is such a headache for You then please stop typing ,put on your coat ,take your hunting rifle and try to catch him.If your efforts ara crowned with succes you may become an eu-hero.In such event Hollywood would make a movie about you titled "Mircea the Mladic hunter".Kids would play games on playstation with similar title and you would be invited to EP where you could loudly shout slogans like down with Klaus .

Are the Dutch feeling sorry for themselves! And who are they to say if Serbia should or should not apply for membership. EU can only say no and refuse the application.

But just what selection process did Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary go through I wonder.

Despite all I believe Serbia is in a strong position and not only geographically.

Can't help to wonder who needs whom most.

This is a blessing in disguise for Serbia. Serbia is better off out of the EU, all it really needs is Schengen and Free trade agreement. It is such a undemocratic entity and wasteful of public funds.

According UN Res. 1244 all sides have to extradite war criminals. Wonder where our "Dutchmen" Ron(-ic) is to remind us in that, especially in a point which especially the Netherlands insists on. On the other hand, I'm not really surprised that Ron(-ic) is not around. It is the same reason when he remained silent when Israel continued not to recognize Kosovo, while Israel violates 63 UN Res. "International Law" will be quoted when it suits. And when Serbia violated practically all human rights in the 90s which are the very foundation of international law (read the first articles) then they also keep silent. Well, we understand why...

Serbia did have achieved full cooperation with "Nato Tribunal" long time ago(unfortunately), just that Dutch friendly "Nato Court" Prosecutor Brammertz is purposely avoiding to verify it in order not to bring his friendly The Netherlands in political trouble because Dutch are not interesting in "full cooperation", but in Mladic delivery and that will bring them in controversy with EU requirements on the issue.

Second of all, the last person Serbian Diplomacy would advice for its political steps concerning EU application is and will be the Srbophob Maxime Verhagen.
