Taliban attack on guesthouse kills 6 UN workers

The attacks on the UN is an attack to the pseude-legitimacy they provide to the West to carry out their wars in Iraq,Afganistan & pakistan.

It seems to me the Taliban t are getting stronger and more ambitious. The conflict with islamic fundamentalism is just beggining worse is yet to come.

Great job NATO! Your fight against global terrorism is going well. You have certainly made countries out of Afganistan and Irak.
I can't wait for Serbia to join this fine and peaceloving military alliance.

8 years ago and not in 2009.What exactly did you achieve in those years?Absolutely nothing.Why? Because there is no purpose and clarity for this war and because the Taliban are more resolute.

Iam afraid this war was lost before it even started.Poll after poll in countries participating in this misconceived adventure are showing a majority against the war and are calling on their goverments to bring their troops back.

The most likely senario will be for a lot of countries to leave Afganistan.The US will remain a chief with no Indians.

Look at them now. We took too long to intervene in the Balkans and when we did, we did not do enough. Yes your are right the US has become too soft, but it was not because of CNN or BBC. You see both of those media organisations are nothing but mouth pieces for the US Government as we have seen at the early stages of Afghanistan and Iraq. It wasn’t until the body bags started to return in large numbers and public opinion waned that these fine examples of a free press started to report different views.

The US became soft because it wanted to be seen as a ‘human rights’ advocate and use this to bring others into submission. It would rant on in the UN for hours about the value of human beings and dignity of freedom of belief and freedom of speech.

Then Afghanistan happened followed quickly by Iraq. It might interest you to know that a large number of journalists which openly wrote against the Iraq war were dismissed from employment because they were not following the party line. Sounds familiar, well is this the US of A or the Soviet Union? Then followed Abu Grahib and the little credibility you guys had vanished overnight. However, your diplomats kept on ranting regardless on about human rights to the point where it was generally known in the General Assembly as the US comedy hour.

You did not intervene in the Balkans because there was no visible exit strategy. The very mistake made by your lot now. No end in sight and dead US servicemen by the truck load, but that’s not all. The number of permanently injured is horrendous, psychiatric problems, illnesses due to experimental drugs and so on…!.There will be thousands living on the streets because there will be no money left to care for them. After the Vietnam war a similar situation occurred, but this time it will make that war look like a picnic.

The US did not divide Serbia because it did not want a series of small fiefdoms having to be fed from the EU budget. It wanted a group of countries working as before with Serbia taking the brunt of the load. That opportunity is over and never to return.

As you seem to be a ‘hawk’ rather than a ‘dove’, when the US extricates itself from the current quagmires the next military action it takes will be in about 90 years from then, provided it has not broken down into separate countries. However, if you cannot wait why not join the US Army/Marines now, see the world and make a difference.
