ironic how john kerry is the one saying the surge goes too far and 'fast' while himself being such a dull individual. kerry, not only have you missed the boat, you've now drowned. the 40,000 you were thinking of sending should have been 400,000 and it should have happened yesterday. the us army salso hould have taken a page from alex the great's book on his afghan campaign. only by incorporating specific tribes (which are warring with others anyways) into your lines can you hope to win a geurilla war. forget about apaches, m1's and a10's. what you need are tribesmen. well paid afghani tribesmen, who are already experienced in tracking and killing other afghanis who don't 'co-operate' with them.

Kerry said that after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, America had to take military action.

"With certainty, we all know why we invaded Afghanistan," said John Kerry. "It was not a mistake to go in. We now have to choose a smart way forward so that no one is ever compelled to ask whether we've made a mistake in staying."

This is why you'll be defeated in Afganistan mr Kerry, because you've never been truthfull with the US public as to the reasons you went there.

This 'war' is nothing to do with al-Qaida. It's to do with oil ang gas pipelines, and control of Central Asia and the Caspian region, with heroin as a bonus for the friends of the gangster leaders you have installed there.

If Mr kerry and the Obama administration want to find the culprits of 9/11 how about starting with Saudi Arabia, that funds these Madrasas in Pakistan, exporting their own warped version of Islam? if ever there was a just cause for toppling a nasty regime, the crazy bastards in Riyad would have got everyones votes.
