According to Belgrade daily Danas, the recent local elections in Vrbas showed that the Democratic Party (DS) is trying to distance itself from G17 Plus.

I think its missing the point that its good to get rid of Dinkic because Russia wants it.

The important point is whether it is good for Serbia or not. I think that G17 has long outstayed its welcome.

It is ridiculous to say that any party in this government is left-oriented when you have the lowest taxation in Europe for high-income earners coupled with the highest taxation in Europe for low-income earners and an absolute refusal by the powers that be to rectify this situation. Their actions are guided solely by self interest and greed, and if DS wants to axe G17 it is merely to get a bigger slice of the pie.

Well said. The pipeline is going through with no obstructions and no amount of political manoeuvring is going to save him or his group. Who knows he might get another posting, possible this time back to Langley, Virginia.

2 years ago I said Tadic would have to move to the right to stay in politics after RUS got involved with KiM or risk losing to Nikolic & that would mean discarding G17 because Dinky works for the CIA, whether he's on their payroll or not he was anti-Gazprom, is pro-NATO & hence RUS wants him out. Kurir reported that RUS asked DS to boot him 3 weeks ago & its no coincidence that the Vrbas situation implies that IT'S OVAH for Dinky.

DS has ahd the eprfect chance for some time. However, unlike G17 Plus, DS doesn'
t like to topple govenrment (unlike G17 Plus).

If there isn't an election it's one of three reasons. DS concern over SNS support (however I doubt this is the case). G17 Plus knowing they can't go over 5% even with the much talked about "Union of Regions" (in September he wanted to hold a meeting far fewer were responsive to Dinkic's machinations; tthe LSV has chosen to partake with LDP). Another sign could also be the question of Ljajic's newly formed SDP, it's not known how much this party would have (traditionally before the dissapearance of parties, their were several Social Democratic Parties, getting combined belwo 10%).

Anyways. If teh G-17 plus is dropped the better for Serbia.
