Seems Tadic is trying to make Belgrade a satellite of Turkey. This is very unfortunate after the provocations of Turkish foreign minister in Bosnia and his comments about the great ottoman heritage of the Balkans(!!). He received much criticism from the Rs press, but i dont see the same happening in Serbia. I wonder why..

Realist thanks, but we (all balkan nations) have tasted Turkey's stability for 400-500 years and we are all aware how its like. No thanks we will pass

As to where Turkey's loyalties lie (w/ us us Albanian) we only need to go back to 1999, when Turkish warplanes helped liberate Kosova by spanking Serbia. (Sidi, 26 October 2009 23:36)

The only thing that Turkish war planes did was to bomb the crap out of the Albanians. When NATO forces entered Kosovo they could only find a few pieces of Serbian military equipment stating “that they could not conclusively prove that the damage to the military hardware was due even to NATO’s air strikes”. Meaning that more likely they had just broken down.

When William Cohen, saw the volume of equipment the Serbians were withdrawing from Kosovo without a scratch he was furious to the point that he forced General Clarke, NATO Commander in chief, to leave his posting 3 months earlier and refused Clarke’s request for a military parade in New York.

It was the US, UK and French that hit Serbian cities. The Italians dropped their bombs in the Adriatic for the Croatian fishermen to catch. Remember that revenge is a dish best served cold and all will be repaid with interest plus more.

There is a new Serbian generation on the rise and this one does not turn the other cheek and will repay all debts they own to NATO.

If Serbia wants to be a stable state, it needs to listen to Turkey. Considering Serbia's traditional 'love' for Balkan muslims, Turkey would be needed to guarantee Serbia's stability.Only Turkey can have the kind of influence needed in Kosova, Bosnia, and Macedonia, to calm things down and to allow Serbia to be in peace.

Serbia, you have two choices. First, either treat the Balkan muslims with the dignity that you reserve for distant muslim states and their 'moral' leaders (such as Libya's Gadafi, Egypt, Syria and other 'advanced' states of the muslim world.

Second choice would be to get to the likes of Turkey.

Whatever happened to the recent bravado that Medvedev instilled to Serbia? The great hope of the bear? In the mean time be realistic, love and respect your neighbors, and most importantly be a good host to Turkey's president. You will need his good graces.

by spanking you mean taking 10 years to still not gain control of a 10,000 sq km territory?

Turkey in relation to Serbia is like the nun at the convent school with the unruly, stubborn youngster: Behave well, and you get milk for lunch. Misbehave and bother the other kids in the yard, you get spanked and sent to see Father McLaughlin for some more spiritual enlightenment. As to where Turkey's loyalties lie (w/ us us Albanian) we only need to go back to 1999, when Turkish warplanes helped liberate Kosova by spanking Serbia.

As long as Serbia and Turkey support solving the same problems, there will be peace in the Balkans," Gul said

What a lot of nonsense. How could you solve problems when his country was the cheer leader in creating the biggest problem in the Balkans by recognising the illegal artificial province of kosovo.

Mr Gul has short memories and
doesn't remember how his compatriots were celebrating the recognition of kosovo. The
Turkish Press were announcing
"our little brother is born".
Now he comes and talks about common values ,common interests and security. This is the apotheosis of hypocricy.

The best thing Serbia could do is to show mr Gul the exit door and tell him he is not welcome.Serbia could still rely on the friendship of all those nations that have refused to comply with US pressure and participate in the dismembering of the country.
