Kosovari,

I am well aware of the massive Russian investments in MN. They have a very strong position there and it is possible that they started to use it to put political pressure on the MN government.
As for trade every country tries to make trade with as many countries as possible if it can be profitable. Generally the motto is "the more the better". Look at Germany as an example. They trade with a very high number of countries. Just because they trade let say with 150 countries they would not say that "it is enough...we are not interested to trade with the remaining 42 some countries".
As for Serbia they could not successfuly embargo MN. They don't have monopoly of products. Whatever sell other countries can sell too.

sj,

I am a Hungarian-American. I like nice places around the world and I hope that one day I will have the occasion to discover the beautiful coast of MN. To bad that real estate is so expensive there (in some respects more expensive than some costal aerias of France...and because of that in professional term it is called "overpriced").

Joe,

I am thankful that MN recognized Republic of Kosova, let's get that cleared up.

What is bothersome is that ever since Russia started foreign direct investments in MN the people and the government there has started to act rudely. Just a few days ago these people came into Kosova territory to plant signs without anyone permission.

Sure the ties with Serbia have been strained but MN is in no position to deny a consultation.

As far the embargo, if MN is doing so well with the trade than why does it trade with Serbia at all? Are you forgetting that most MN roads lead to Beograd?? OOPS.

You might want to read the UN’s senior representative’s press statement of 8/10/09 about your capital city. You remind me of the clueless fanatics when they are in water up to their necks but yelling out that they are warm and dry and all is well.

I’m just wonder, what exactly does Montenegro have that would be valuable to Serbia? Minerals, none; oil, none; gas, none; arable land, very little; access to the sea, yes and Serbia is in the process of buying the portion of the Belgrade to Bar railway which runs through Monte plus a port – this is condition of Monte leaving Yugoslavia.

I have only recently read a report about that region and the greatest concerns are for Croatia, BiH, Kosovo, Macedonia and Monte becoming states completely run by criminals simply because of a lack of money.

I read extensively and you Montes sound just like the Croats both make a great living off tourism. Funny no one else in the world could do that. Don’t worry too much about Serbia’s image in Europe, the grovelling from the EU is only starting and will become greater. Montenegro will in the end beg Serbia to open 20 consultates and I have feeling that Croatia’s days are coming at an end and will be lucky to have one.

Kosovari,

Times are gone when you were able to push your neighbors around. Try to embargo Montenegro. First of all you couldn't because that small country has 4 more neighbors and a see coast. Whatever they are buying currently in Serbia they could buy it in other countries. Only you would get hurt.
Secondly you would show your true colors toward the EU, your unfriendly, uncooperative attitude against your neighbors. Now when you try so desperately to become an EU member with such attitude you would kill your chance for a long, long time.

montenegro shouod have more than 3 since montenegro has well over 250,000-300,000 serbs so about 49% of montenegro are serbs today, and in serbia there is maybe 200,000 so called montenegrins and for the guy that says croatia could do the same not with only about 4-5 thousand croats tha live there. montengrins= serbs same blood line same genes

Montenegro aka Russia's little colony is quickly trying to act very tough. Trashing your neighbors leads to reciprocal actions likewise. Serbia in all fields (territory, people, wealth) dominates the newly independent Montenegro. Let them eat cake, and then embargo MN. They'll be begging Serbia to open as many embassies / consultations as Beograd wants.

And Croatia with less then 10,000 Croats in Montenegro can have the same.

But Serbia with 200,000+ Serbs in Montenegro, significant numbers of sympatetic self-declared Montenegrins and over 300,000 boting age Montenegrin citizens in Serbia can't.

One consulate in such a small country is more than sufficient. Trying to have more means that they would like to create trouble there too.

A consulate in Herceg-Novi would make sense since 80 percent of the citizens of that town are serbs.

However I can't understand how Tzar Milo "get rich" Djukanovic or his government can have anything against Serbia having 3 consulates in Montenegro?
What are they afraid of?

Could it be for the same reason they are afraid to allow dual citizenship between Serbia and Montenegro? Because 500 000 montenegrins in Serbia would be allowed to vote Tzar Milo "Get rich" Djukanovic out of power if they were allowed to vote in their Montenegro despite living in Serbia?

More then sufficient indeed.

In contrary don't think
that Serbian Embassy to MN is needed, neither diplomatic relations after MN-s "day after" Kosovo "recognition".

That "knife in the back" we should forget and forgive never.
