Ahmet Yurur,

Perhaps because many Turks, as a result of the then practise of Janissaries are truly of Balkan origin (forcefully converted many centuries ago from their true Serbian, Greek, Bulgarian etc. ethnicity). Thus the Turks, may not have been the victors everywhere, but a large percentage of their "true" ancestral homes and families in those battlegrounds were and to this day are their victims. For if it was the Turkish sword, faith and banner that ravaged the Balkans hundreds of years ago, had they stayed in Anatolia, we would surely not have had the problems in the Balkans today.

Don't worry, there is plenty of time for Serbia to recognise Kurdistan. This is only your current politicians working for their money from the EU - you have to be nice to everyone before joining the EU.

The problem with the Turks is that they think Turkey is important.

"He went on to say that Turkey's recognition of the Kosovo Albanian unilateral secession declaration in February 2008 [...] came because Turkey has had "since ancient times strong and special relations with the people of Kosovo, whose independence came as a result of the international community's long engagement"."

-- While distortions of history are state-sponsored professions of modern Turkey, even this is a stretch, particularly since Turks had not entered Anatolia until 1071, and had not crossed into Europe until 1354. Whatever this "ancient times" nonsense is, it's a testament to Mr. Gul's elementary understanding of the history of his people and its connection to Europe.

He went on to say that Turkey's recognition of the Kosovo Albanian unilateral secession declaration in February 2008 "was not directed against Serbia", and that it came because Turkey has had "since ancient times strong and special relations with the people of Kosovo, whose independence came as a result of the international community's long engagement".

How about giving Kursd own state in Turkey? Why Albanians can have two states but Kurds not even one? How he can solve Kurdish question? How about recognizing genocide commited against Armenians in first world war. Of course that Turkey and Albanians have special relationship, it was turks who introduced them to Balkan.

Turks are neither afraid nor have any complexes to visit battle grounds where they were not victors...They have so many other battles to show for their glories and victories of past and present..This is why President Gul will be visiting Petrovaradin, Sremski Karlovci and of course tomb of Ali Pasha, the conquerer of Morea..After all, the Turks have suggested the Chapel for Peace where the Karlovci Treaty was signed...

Mr Gul wants multy ethnic Bosnia and Hercegovina, but when it comes to Kosovo, of cause, it is a special case. In that case he does not mind if it is not multi ethnic.

who needs him in skupstina?

show him the important facts, the battlefield where the holy christian league took victory over turkey, the first round table in the world where turkey negotiated it´s defeat, or ali pasha´s tomb...

this is obviously important, as turkeys "modern" policy doesn´t mirror the facts of 160 years of liberated europe.

Bingo!

Who needs Turkish President in Serbia in first place, plus giving the speech in Serbian Parliament? Man would say little bit too too too much. Honor of addressing The Parliament must be the privilege only for Russian, Chinese, Greek and so on... friendly countries Presidents.

Obviously somebody decided to think and realized that Turk would not be exactly welcome in this role, particularly by Radicals, so something not very much diplomatic would may have happen in that case.

Send him home asap...comon' Turks are the first one to lobby in Muslim World for Kosovo "independence"!

Yellow's must straightened their diplomacy: oke basic diplomatic contacts remain - yes, but speaking in Serbian Parliament by Turkish President - JUST A SIMPLE JOKE!!!
