"Plavsic was one of the most racist leaders on the space of the former Yugoslavia" - Kosta.
There were, and still remain, racist leaders on all sides in BiH. There is no love lost between Muslims and Serbs, Serbs and Croats, and Croats and Muslims still today in Bosnia. I don't know exactly what this woman did, but she has at least served her time in jail for her crimes. That is more than the criminals from ALL sides have. The US made a huge mistake in breaking up the peoples of Bosnia, and then thinking it could put it all back together again to their liking. The big, filthy hand of America is the real criminal here, yet they take the moral high road and point their finger at minor players.

kosta, it's quite simple. She worked for their interests post-war and she told the Hague what they wanted.

She was promised no jail sentence, but not to enrage people (given that she was the most disturbed of all people in the war, famously saying all deaths in the war were "biological").

Incidentally. It has been shown she purgered this court. And if the Hague was a noarmal court they would have doubled her sentenced right away. [Afterall everything she has said has been refutted by other Serbs at the Hague, non-Serb indictees and the vast majority of witnesses in her own trial).

I'm absolutely disgusted by this decision. Plavsic was one of the most racist leaders on the space of the former Yugoslavia. However, she was useful to the Americans in the aftermath of Dayton and collaborated with the NATO occupation of Bosnia. For this reason Madeleine Albright testified on Plavsic's behalf, which just underscores that the US was never really concerned about "Serbian nationalism," but only with those 'Serbian' (or any other) nationalists who opposed Washington's preferences in the region. Fact is that while we all may have states now, we're all on the edge of poverty and unemployed wile a few crime-families run the entire post-Yugoslav space... svi u zatvor!
