Đelić hopeful of interim deal unfreezing

Deputy Prime Minister Božidar Đelić expects EU members to discuss the unfreezing of the Interim Trade Agreement with Serbia by the end of the year.

No Mladic - no deal.

The Netherlands can and will veto it until Ratko Mladić is in The Hague (or proven dead). The EU is set up in such a way that a single member state can block a move, no matter how many other members may want it. For the Dutch public, the Srebrenica genocide and the demand for the arrest of Mladic remain a "live" political issue, which has brought down governments. On this they're not likely to change their minds -- unless official Belgrade changes its tack and finally arrest and delivers Mladić, instead of just talking about it.
