This is connected to two bit of news in Croatia at the moment.

One is that the son of influential family decided to hang an Ustasa flag on the balcony of his family home during a party.

The other is that Mesic was visiting Israel at the time! Mesic of course went beserk, causing the usual mob of nationalists to accuse him of being a communist.

Well, look Croatia, at these recent incidents and how it is affecting your international reputation.

Isn't it about time for normal people to stand up to extremism, to anti Serbism or anti semitism? (I include both as central concepts of Ustasa ideology)

"I don't see the president of Croatia here," Solana said. And???
Croatian President is supposed to be seen in Jerusalem? I don't get it. Solona is the definition of a eurocrat: out of touch with reality. He is the most annoying politician ever. Good news is that he does not have much power over what happens in the EU.

OH SNAP!!!
Wow. I can't wait to hear the Croats recover from this one!
I guess the EU love affair with the Balkans is rapidly coming to a close... Bosnia is not playing ball with the EU and US; Serbia refuses to let the Kosovo thing die down; Macedonia is stubborn over the silly name game; Croatia is playing the nationalist and fascist card too often for international tastes.
So what are the EU going to do now to entice the Balkans into the EU or european mentality? Maybe some more humanitarian bombings and sanctions? As the old adage goes: "The flogging will continue until morale improves". Hehehehe
