“When I met in Brussels with Council of Europe Director for Foreign and Military Affairs Robert Cooper and other officials, I said that we were ready to talk, and that we wanted to be constructive, but that these were problems that needed more time,” Bogdanović said, adding that talks had begun early this year and ended abruptly in May.

He said that all of the blame for the suspension of these talks rested with the international community, and that Serbia “was ready to continue talking, as we are today.”

Is he kidding? Why is he wondering? What he is demanding are talks about the status of Kosovo, which the majority of the EU says that they are over. The independence of Kosovo can't be turned back.

"..Of course, the problem is, it is 20 years too late. Kosova is, and will remain, independent, precisely because of what occurred in 1989, 1990 and 1999.

Real problem with the above is that Kosovo's history didn't begin with 1989.. nor did it end with 1999. But keep repeating the mantra.. who knows, you might even convince yourself.

“The income must go to the Serb community in Kosovo, and the court and judges in northern Mitrovica must operate using laws that existed up to 1989."

Well done Bogdanovic. Precisely what infuriated one serb poster below gives me a good impression of this guy. At least by screaming "does this guy want Yugoslavia back?", Gojko is admitting that it was precisely Milosevic's Serbia that destroyed Yugoslavia, by, among other things, these monstrously illegal actions of 1989, suppressing Kosova's constiotutional autonomy and ripping up the Yugoslav constitution.

Of course, the problem is, it is 20 years too late. Kosova is, and will remain, independent, precisely because of what occurred in 1989, 1990 and 1999.

"So it would be correct to assume his signature wasn't amongst those 48'000 signatures who wanted EULEX out of Kosovo a couple of days ago. And Mike talks about political unity!?! Go figure...
(KU)"

-- This is actually an excellent example of what I'm talking about. Clearly there's a sizable percentage of K Serbs that want EULEX out, but I wonder what they want in return? Serb MUPs? While that would be nice, I doubt that's feasible at this juncture. But this divide between Serbs that want to work with EULEX as an equal partner, and Serbs that want EULEX out testify to the continued need for some form of political and institutional unity. Otherwise, unity goes little beyond simply resisting the attempted hegemony of Pristina.

1989! What is this guy talking about. Does he want Yugo back. How about having laws identical to Belgrade or does he want to recognize Kosovo?

This guy is a puppet and his words are lost in the air. Get a new job!

Well Kosovo is indpendent and will stay so forever. The serbs in the north will have a small autonomy and will rule them self inside the borders of the republic of Kosovo and everybody will be happy. that's it!!

Partition of Kosovo is out of the question or else Preshevo valley will also partitioned from Serbia.
One thing is for sure is that Serbia will never have a saying about neither the north or south of Kosovo. Kosovo goverment rules everything is both of this regions and the goverment in prishtina is made of both serbs and albanians so it is not only the albanians who will be the rulers but both serbs and albanians.

Mike

The key here is political unity among K Serbs. Right now, there's just as much in-fighting among Serb holdings as there is fighting with EULEX. The sooner consensus is reached for a unified representation of K Serbs at Mitrovica/Gracania, the easier it will be for these entities to work with EULEX in deepening these links of cooperation and improving the standard of living for the K Serb community.

"Forget Kosova. Neither God it selves [sic] can't bring it back with Serbia"

-- On the contrary. Serbs are not only remembering Kosovo, they're doing whatever they can to hold on to what they can hold on to. I'd say to you "forget the north, forget Gracanica, forget Strpce. Neither Bill Clinton, nor Bernie Kouchner, can deliver it to you." Learn to live with what you've been given, and learn to accept what others will not give you.

Slowely but surely Kosovo is being partitioned. Different rules/laws for different areas. Great work EU! Then again that is what can be expected when terrorists hijack a province and refuse to compromise.

"We cannot consent to having cases tried under the laws of the so-called state of Kosovo, and to have Albanians as judges in northern Mitrovica, or have the income collected from the administrative crossings go towards the Kosovo budget". Of course not, Serbs do not want anything to do with the Albanians, just like they wanted nothing to do with Serbs. Just because K_Albanians declare "we want to be independent", like they have several times in recent history, does not mean anything to Serbs. Serbs will judge fellow Serbs, and duties collected at serbian borders, will go to Serb communities.

Illr - You're favourite song must be by "Glenn Lewis - Dream", or mayb it's "It's just an illusion - Imagination", because that's all that Kosovo independece is.

A little patience and the ICJ will take care of everything. You can ignore the ruling but countries + companies that try to invest in Kosovo will be squashed in the world's courts. Once evryone gets the message that Kosovo is legally Serbian, your masters, the US and EU will try to negotiate on your behalf with Serbia for an extensive autonomy. So keep dreaming cos this is as good as it's going to get for you.
