Gone are the days when Serbia could bully states like Macedonia within FRY. I think Jeremic and his cabinet's colleagues live in a coocooland and are yet to wake up and face the reality.

I can assure you that not ethnic Macedonian likes this decision. There is not much choice right now. This is a hallow gesture to appease the International community.

It is a bit strange the help that this country gets from all the Western world (I am talking about the Former Yugoslavic Republic of "Macedonia"). Candidate member for NATO, candidate member for EU etc etc. Other countries such as Serbia, and many others in the Balkans do not get much attention and assistance. Have you ever wondered why???? Not to mention the name dispute with Greece. Well one thing is for sure. Since Greece is a full member of EU and NATO this country will always be a candidate member. EU VETO IS COMING as well (following the NATO VETO) if they don't change their name.

Macedonia did not have much of a choice. It is a by-national state and could not ignore the wishes of one of its components. The former Macedonian PM L. Georgievski proposed a division of the country, but was booed by the majority of his countrymen. Now we see the results.

Soon FYROM will realize its mistake in appeasing the Albanian irredentists.

FYROM has lost a potential ally in its name dispute. Serbia could've acted as a mediator between Greece and FYROM considering the historically close relations that Serbia shares with both countries. Now that FYROM has shown an antagonstic attitude towards Serbia, you can expect no help from Serbia in the name dispute. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Serbia switch its recognition of FYROM as "Republic of Macedonia" to FYROM due to FYROM's reckless actions.

Perhaps most importantly, estabilishing relations with the so-called "Republic of Kosovo" will only encourage Albanian extremists in their own back yard. It seems that the FYROMian government has quickly forgotten about 2001. They do so at their own peril.

"The Serbian diplomacy chief emphasized that neighboring countries can discuss Serbia's borders only with the government in Belgrade."

Apperantly this doesn't seam to be so.

Unfortunately the NLA, NATO, US, EU are exerting alot more pressure on the Macedonian Govt than it can is able to resist. I don't believe the Prime minister or President like the idea but sadly they have an Albanian with a gun to their head.

Keep on threatening Jeremic! International community is fed up with your threats and no one takes you seriosly. You keep on "forgetting" that Macedonia is an independent country, with a vast Albanian population, and can take any decision it deems right for its country.

Since Macedonia recognises its neighbour to the North, it seems silly and unpractical to not have diplomatic relations with it. Kosovo is independent and it is silly to ignore this. Macedonia has taken the right decision and this will increase stability to the region. It is Serbia who is been hostile, not Macedonia. Macedonia is been peaceful. I hope Kosovo and Macedonia can have friendly and successful relations with one another.

Mr. minister, i hope you understand that macedonia is an independent country and it decides in the best of its citizens and of the entire region. i also hope that you understand that threatings are niether in the spirit of good neighbourly relations and nor in the spirit of EU integration.
