Dont pretend to be falsely offended highduke, you know full well I'm talking about your view and not the past of Jugoslavija.

You are the one who thinks that Serbia should only have nationalist parties. I am the one who thinks that Serbian people should have the right to make that choice.

You are the one so hot under the collar about rights to minorities etc and yet you use precisely that to support your 'argument'.

Bganon, yours is a false dichotomy because since the year 1804, minorities that respect territorial integrity have equal rights, political parties & opportunities PLUS since WW2 special priveleges that the West/Anglosphere has granted its minorities just 20 years ago like universities, radio, tv programs in the minority language. How dare you insinuate otherwise!? When they violate territorial integrity, all that gets taken away. How bloody DARE you?

Those who think the status quo is good are happy when all parties (and all people) think the same thing.

A healthy democracy is when you have a real choice between different parties.

Serbia has numerous problems to be dealt with. By their policies SPS largely created them, DSS and DS seem to have exacerbated them, rather than solved them.

There will always be a place for any party on the Serbian scene that promises to shake up this persistent failure and trust me when I say the Serbian people are looking for such a party.

LDP would have us believe they have the answers, but if you look at the cult of personality around their leader, if you look at the tendency for neo-liberalism, if you look at the ridiculous statements that Serbia must join NATO to become an EU member (when NATO commanders recently stated this is not necessary) you can only conclude that LDP are part of the problem.

highduke you may be happy having a society of nationalists and extreme nationalists but I'm far happier having a society that wants to look after the needs of the entire country, not just its own tribe.

Bganon, to answer your naive question: because 97% of Serbs hate the LDP. We dont want a polarized neurotic political scene. We want soft, centrist & extreme nationalists to chose from just like our ethnic, linguistic, religious & cultural BROTHER RUSSIANS because SERBIA IS THE RUSSIA OF THE BALKANS.

Well another carreerist crook from SPS, whats new there?
And Tadic turns the other way, whats new there?

When will Serbia found a real opposition putting forward real alternatives to the reactionary on the one hand and the neo-liberal on the other.

I hope we learn from RUS & reconcile our past instead of attacking it. Just as RUS views the USSR & Yeltsin, we should view Milosevic & SFRY respectively. Sloba is loved by Putin's people & his failures are viewed there as externally induced, while 1st & 2nd Yugoslavia were ethnic disasters for Serbs. Let's stop with the Sloba-bashing & get real. It's old, obsolete, divisive & inaccurate. Plus hypocritical in light of Tadic's recent policies.
