This is just a ridiculous move by MUP to try to convinc people abroad that in Serbia the law treats everybody the same.

Although I don't like Tadic, this is ridiculous. We all know this is going nowhere.

Actually I think we missed the point.
This sounds to me as a deliberate step decided upon by Tadic to try to illustrate that he must play by the rules and if he does not he will face punishment.
No, I don't think he planned it in advance but when the matter was raised somewhere it was decided by Tadic and the powers that be that he should be sanctioned.

This kind of cheap demagogy was abandoned in the West more than a hundred years ago.

Serb MUP should go after hoolignas that consume alkohol at will on the streets rather than going after its own President for opening a bottle of chamagne. It is a shame.

Yes, law is the law - but there are clever ways to apply it and also stupid ways. In this case MUP action is mildly speaking not particularly smart simply because the odds that Mr. Tadic will take a baseball bat and hit some Romanian fans in the head are pretty small.
By the way, MUP/KPS:
- Can anyone please explain, is it legal to drive with fog lights on in KiM/SRB if there is no fog, just dark?
- Where can I adjust the lights properly, people flashing at me because they think, I am driving with high beam lights. I don't, just the EU-specification cars have the regular lights at angle, mine are straight.
Asking because that made some MUP/KPS officers confused and angry. In Hungary it's not that a big problem, they seem to care less.
