Cheap shot, I know, but I won't be suprised if there is silence from the usual 'serb' commentators who jump at any opportunity to bash albanians on similar kind of stories.

I have alaways said that all nationalities in Balkans are involved in organised crime....yes, including Serbia. Crime has no national boundaries.

Arrests are being made in both Serbia and further afield of suspects involved in cocaine smuggling. They include a number of Serbian nationals, who are among the ringleaders, daily Blic understands.


HM, Who would have thought that Serb nationals are involved in smmugling hard drugs and we are talking about tons and kg.
Anyway, good job by serb police and nost of the credit goes to DEA. They are greater thah any other agency in the entire world.

I am from Uruguay and here police have found also more than 2 tons of cocaine from a yate in a port in Montevideo. They said two serbians were captured and that they belong to a big organization around the world; maybe this also is part of the operation

I believe it is more than fair to note the fact that Serbs were the ringleaders in this massive, MASSIVE drug deal (your article says this).

It is important due to the fact that Serbian media (and many visitors of your website) continuously try to give the impression as its only Albanians who do such things (Kosovo center of drug traffic and similar nonsense).

It is also fair to mark this nonsense as pure propaganda, because that is what it is.

My guess is that someone high up in Serbian government is very saddened that their package was intercepted, but when DEA warns you, you have to act.

Serbs have never claimed to be "crime free" as some of our dear albanian posters are advocating. Serbia certainly has it's challenges, with all the ups and downs of any democracy..including crime.

Unfortunately, Serbia prosecutes it's criminals. I can't say the same for albanians...they praise their criminals, and actually elect them to higher office. albanian higher office, that's like the saying jumbo shrimp or breasts on a bull ...worthless.

Serbian criminals are the worst in the Balkans. Government of Serbia with its media propaganda, “subsidized by criminal enterprise of serbian gangsters”, always tried to blame Albanians. The west figured out this long time ago and doesn’t take their accusations seriously, that’s why FM Vuk is laughing stock for the west.

Pardon me. Countless numbers of them are "Serbian Nationals" even from most pro-Albanian view. Because they travel (and are caught) with Serbian passports. This is what "Serbian National" expression is often used for.

In Hungary the drug offenders often are reported as "Albanians from Kosovo with Serbian passport". But most politically correct version is "Serbian National".

It's always funny to read comments from Albanian nationalists in articles like these that attempt to dump a large part of the Balkan drug problem on Serbs. However, I don't ever recall Serbs denying their own are involved in drug smuggling. It's a recognized problem that involves Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Albania. Yet when drug smuggling constitutes a major percentage of Kosovo's GDP, it's a bit hard to take Albanian derision with any seriousness, particularly when it's coming from the usual suspects around here.

"Serbian" means "someone with Serbian passport". Is he Mihailovic or Mikullovci - people in Montevideo do not really understand. As long as "Mihailovic" or "Mikullovci" have Serbian passport, they are Serbs. And besides, "Mihailovic" or "Mikullovci" sounds almost the same anyway, so it should be the same.

- I did not hold candle to ancestors of Tadic. Some could be Agim.
- This 3 tons of cocaine is my loss. Don't worry, I invested in more stuff, straight from Medellín, Colombia.

"Serbian" means "someone with Serbian passport". Is he Mihailovic or Mikullovci - people in Montevideo do not really understand. As long as "Mihailovic" or "Mikullovci" have Serbian passport, they are Serbs. And besides, "Mihailovic" or "Mikullovci" sounds almost the same anyway, so it should be the same.
