Wonder how many other EU members or potential EU memebers have met Ecological and Environmental conditions. Having been to Norway I can understand what Sweden is all about. But hey this is Europe - More people, more cars, more rubbish to dispose of - and lets face it, the priorities are very different.

"In that case why does Sweden think Kosovo should be independent? And why not grant RS independence if later those borders won't make a difference anyway?
Borders or no borders! Kosovo is Serbia and no made up stories from sweeds and other europeans will change that!

MikeC,

As a fully neutral person from the West I agree.

If borders are not relevant as soon as region has joined EU, why not had waited for Serbia (with Kosovo) to join EU then?

And the opposite: if Kosovo can become independent (illegally by the way) ALTHOUGH BORDERS DON'T MATTER ANYMORE, well, the RS can also go from Bosnia!

So borders don't matter, so Kosovo can become independent.
But borders don't matter so RS (and Herzog Bosna) must stasy in Bosnia.

Well, who is the West trying to fool?

My free advice: never accept this!

Romania will be part of the Schengen Area in 2011.

Meaning you can come to Poland without being checked at border to watch the matches of Euro 2012.There you can witness Team Serbia winning the championship like the greek did in 2004.

Soon they will send you the message you indirectly allready know. 'Recognize Kosovo or respect the state of Kosovo as independent from Serbia and then you can join the EU'. Kosovo is independent as long as the goverment in Kosovo and our constitution exist. This two things is being stronger everyday and one day some serbs will not even dear to offer autonomy.

Zoran,

The Swedish ambassador is thinking very far at the day when Serbia and Kosovo will be part of the Schengen Area. That will be a long time from now.

Romania will be part of the Schengen Area in 2011.

Mike C,

The Swedish Ambassador is on your side, why must you antagonize him/her. Serbia eventually may be able to join the EU, but if the Serb gov't had the attitude you display here on B92, Serbia could wait forever and never gain admission to the EU.

"the future of Kosovo is in the EU", and that once the whole region has joined, "the contact of borders will have lost its meaning completely"

Sounds like Kosovo is heading in the direction of more than autonomy, less than independence. Sound familiar?
