Some people here do not have such good memories for dates. The Netherlands beat FR Yugoslavia 6-1 in 2000 and Argentina beat S-M 6-0 in 2006.

S-M in 2006 were in the toughest group and lost 3 of their first choice defenders so were always up against it.

I very much doubt Argentina could beat Serbia at all let alone 6-0 at the moment.

Bravo Serbia!! It's next evidence (after Waterpolo championship and Basketball vicechampionschip) that serbian sport is strong :)

Because polish football team fatally lost eliminations - I will have new team for support ;)

i would have bet that the eu-entry of romania is the true reason for european level of romanian football, at least in 2 of 10 games ...

Eurobuldogs will not have a good sleep tonight.Serbs have clearly overtaken 4 Eurokolhoz members.Seems that you can get judas money and commands from Brussels but not sense of ball and tactics,all for one one for all mentality and fighting spirit.I watched 3 matches at the same time tonight but concentrated in the last 30 minutes on this match.It was pure CCCC or SSSS as it prounanced Samba School Serb Soccer.The european brazils are back .

Enough with these individual former European countries having their own teams - they are the EU now, and should have just one team representing them all. Down with this display of by-gone nationalism. By having one EU team, it would drastically cut down on football hooliganism too.

I wouldn't be surprise if someone comes and says that Serbs learned soccer from Šuker and Vlaović, just like someone claimed not long ago that Serbs learned water polo and basketball from Croatians. Anyway I count Serbia as one of the favorites to reach semi-finals or even the final,too bad my great idol Dejan Petković won't be there,He is considered one of the best foreign players to have played in Brazil.

I would like to congratulate Serbia on their achievement. Their team is playing very well and it has a real shot at advancing in the finals in South Africa. Hopefully other former Yugo teams will also make it to the finals to show the world that soccer is quite strong in this part of the world.

It is always so funny when some try to make consequences based on past events.If this was so Greece would not have won ECin 2004.Well the serb team at the end of 90s and beganning of2000 was far not as good and united and had not such U21 achivments like these young guys,but what si most important a coach of this quality who finally got in the right place.I will never forget senor Antic for winning the last title with my favourite spanish team Athletico Madrid.This serb team has bright future and will definatelly get throug group stage like in 2000(they lost to holland that year in EC quterfinalsnot 2002) and 1998 .Let us not forget due to their Fifa rank list position they will be in better position during draw and cannot get once more such a difficult group as in 2006.IMO they are not strong enough to win WC but in 2012 they can win EC.By that time this team will be more mature and even better and needless to say both in Poland and Ukraine will feel like at home.Otherwise I am a big fan of serb ball game player s and hope they willmake up for the revolting sanktions of 1992 .Seems that in 2012 the promising basketball team will be very strong as well as volleyball and water polo teams.(and the hanball team seems to be out of crisis).WEll and maybe a Krajnovic-Djokovic final in Wimbledon is not impossible either that year.Otherwise good to see that opposed to Mirce other romanians have not lost their common sense .All my respect to them.
