aRta,

Kosovo and Albania leading the world in economic recovery, what a laugh. What? the price of donkeys and goats gone up lately on the EU stock exchange?

If you have been on another planet and have not heard there is a world recession going on and most first world countries have gone into debt to restart their economies, eg the UK has so far spent $50,000 pounds per citizen – get a calculator and work out the debt for yourself; US 4 Trillion dollars; Australia $300 billion and it goes on and on. The only first world country not indebt is New Zealand.

Serbia has borrowed just like any other country in the EU to keep its economy going but the difference is Serbia can repay these loans. How much has Kosovo and Albania borrowed, Oh! I sorry the world lending agencies will not lend to these counties, they only get aid.

In regard to Croatia and Slovenia, they both get EU aid on a massive scale. Slovenia relies on Austria to guarantee its borrowing and from what I hear the Austrians are not too keen to let them get into any further debt. Croatia alone has a foreign debt of 56 Billion Euros – that’s massive for a country of 3.8 million people.

As far as the monthly average earn of Slovenia and Croatia I would not get too excited there either because there are many ways of ‘coming with the right results’ – it’s called creative accounting or bookkeeping. It’s like opinion polls, you ask the right question, you get the answer you are looking for.

arta,

I really don't want to get into a kind of 'my country is better than yours'. But you got to be realistic:

Albania is like a third world country compared to the rest of Europe!

I do not say that is the fault of the people living there but please be a bit realistic!

Albanian won't join EU the coming 10, 20 years!

It's well known that Federacija is bankrupt while RS is prospering but the West continues to ask Serbia and Serbians to merge and assist failed entities it created. This isn't only the case in BiH but also Kosovo.

Now why doesn't the West ask the Bosnian Muslims and ethnic Albanians to integrate with what is successful?
--------
You cannot be serious, can you? Serbia would be bankrot if not for emergency $5 billion in aid and loans from IMf, WB, Eu, Russia, China and god knows who else you borrowed money from this year alone. Your salary is 350 EUR a month and that's because of Vojvodina, if not you would see 250 EUR a month. Serbia a success? Only Kosova and Albania saw a rise this year in economic activity and Croatia and Slovenia has 2-3 times your average salary.

Serbia. It makes no sense. However I guess these guys in Belgrade would sell their mothers if it got them a few crumbs of praise from Brussels and Washington.
(iseult henry, 10 October 2009 22:08)

So, you would prefer Serbia not to support any EU/US efforts so that you can blame them after to create mess around! Do you wear by chance anti-Serbian gogles?

Thats how things work, you say I support all but you do whats best for you.

Its how you deal with the west. There is no come back and they sit and just grumble, but if you say no then they have an excuse to do something.

Let's not make the Kosovo-mistake. There must be a mutual agreed solution!

What we got now is Dayton. If all three sides agree this can be changed.

-- Huh? First you hypothesize about the dissolution of RS, and then you call for the division of Bosnia into region. Last time I checked, RS and Federacija are "regions", and a good chunk of Croat-inhabited Federacija want a "region" of their own.

I always find it interesting how the proponents of dismembering Serbia are the loudest champions of a centralized Bosnia (and additionally the supporters of a centralized Kosovo parastate).

It's obvious Belgrade supports a united Bosnia, as they support a united Serbia. But let's not be under any pretense that anyone is going to, let alone *can*, strip powers of RS. To do so risks a referendum on independence.

Western politicians need a reality check. The've conpired to create an unworkable multicultural monster and instead o admitting failure they continue to support it tooth and nail without taking into conideration the wishes of its inhabitants.

Radical Muslim imams are threatening Sarajevo's multicultural legacy. With the help of Arab benefactors, the deeply devout are acquiring new recruits. In the "Jerusalem of the Balkans," Islamists are on the rise.

No matter what the West does Bosnia will continue to be a failed state. The best way forward for all the communities involved will be for each to go their separate ways join their motherlands and then they could be encompassed under the EU if they wish so or remain separate entities.

arTa,

Croatia and NATO to save Bosnia eh! They are trying to save your dumb Croatians backsides by having these discussions to patch over the differences between your lot and the Muslims. It’s your Croatians that are begging Srpska to help them, to take them under its umbrella not the other way around.

“Finally e might have peace with Croats and NATO insuring it.” Typical Croats deluded to the max. They think someone else is going to do their fighting for them and that NATO is going to hold down the Serbs while they beat them. NATO is not going to get involved in this or any other matter in Bosnia so get that through you thick skull.

Croats are now a minority in Bosnia and you guys will be a non entity by 2014, but your Bosniak brothers want to hasten your departure and make you a non entity by 2011. That is why the Croats are being involved in discussions. Be nice to the Serbs and they might change their minds and save you eh!

Funny how Serbia wasn't even invited in the meeting, Croatia was.
(arTa, 10 October 2009 11:19) "

And how will Srpska cease to exist without overturning Dayton?????

Nato already has its hand full in Afghanistan and Iraq, thanks to USA's reckless adventurism in the past, which if I may add, has earned the Yankees the ire of some of their Nato allies who do not allow their troops to be involved in the fighting in these countries. And it needed to beg Moscow for permission to use Russian air space enroute to Afghanistan. Nato definitely has no stomach for another hotspot in Bosnia or anywhere else in the world.

That's because they know which way Republika Srpska will take. The path of independece so there is nothing to discuss. However, the croats and muslims have a lot of issues to deal with. Good luck!

There is a simple solution to this crisis. Let the three different people be in control of their own lives and their own territory. Bosnia has been like this since the war ended and there is nothing indicating that it is getting better. Why would Serbs give up their freedom in RS and join a muslim fundamentalist Sarajevo? There is not even one successful and democratic muslim country in the world. Not one! The West is just wasting their time on this one. I thought they learned from the lessons of history not to force these people into an arrange marriage. Do we really need another war to make people realize that Serbs, and probably Croats too, will not settle for anything less than their freedom from the chains of islam.
