... Croats didn't sell downed pilots back, but kept them in a kind of honorary confinement - no hard feelings there.

Please refer to the following

... there aren't too many of those 500+ american pilots that the serbs saved left alive today, but I suspect that if you said the above to ANY of them, each & every one would want to spit in your face.

General Markus Bentler is not so stupid. He predicted answer "no" from Berisha, and his next proposition can be: Ok, you can not go to Kosovo, go to Afganistan then.

You saved them or they saved you???? How many Americans died to save you from Nedic, draza and the Nazis?
(aRta, 8 October 2009 11:52) "

No surprise that someone like you would put a serb like 'Draza' Mihailović in the same league as Nedic & the nazis. Question is, is this due to ignorance or hate?

Here's what Truman had to say when he awarded the Legion of Merit to Mihailović posthumously in 1948:

> "General Dragoljub Mihailovich distinguished himself in an outstanding manner as Commander-in-Chief of the Yugoslav Army Forces and later as Minister of War by organizing and leading important resistance forces against the enemy which occupied Yugoslavia, from December 1941 to December 1944. Through the undaunted efforts of his troops, many United States airmen were rescued and returned safely to friendly control. General Mihailovich and his forces, although lacking adequate supplies, and fighting under extreme hardships, contributed materially to the Allied cause, and were instrumental in obtaining a final Allied victory." — US President Harry S. Truman, March 29, 1948.

The Legion of Merit is the highest ranking medal that the US can give to a foreign national.

And the award could not have been made on a political basis as it was made 'in secret' by the state department - for fear of 'offending' Mihailović's old foe, Tito & his new 'Yugoslavia'.

So it could only have been made on the basis of merit.

Am curious 'aRta', did ANY K-albanian of WWII receive the same?

Might in some small way ameliorate the war-crimes commited by the K-albanians own SS division - the 21st SS Division Skanderbeg - who were busy murdering serbs & sending jews to the nazi gas chambers.

ps: there aren't too many of those 500+ american pilots that the serbs saved left alive today, but I suspect that if you said the above to ANY of them, each & every one would want to spit in your face.

And the U.S. paid a bounty, in gold, for each of them. Just as they did to anyone who saved a U.S. pilot - there were a lot we got back in China, for example.

The Croats didn't sell downed pilots back, but kept them in a kind of honorary confinement - no hard feelings there.

Arta - where is the link? Berisha claims that there is a problem with translation and the reporting of his and Lavrov's comments. So at least we should be able to see the alleged statement by Feith in Black and White.

-----
Let's try this: What is Faith's official position? Google "International Steering Group" or "International Civilian Representative" and you will see what it is.

Berisha was messing with the Russian FM, we know Jeremic told Larveov to make that dopey statement. Albania is part of NATO so Russia's word means next to nothing. Berisha's statement meant that the Russian FM must be smoking something, of course he said it better

P.S. There is no need to join borders, you can leave them and do everything else (like no customs, same education system etc.) The train has left the station, now ANOTHER highway Shkodra-Kosova will be build and a railway.

He is much better off leaving it up to those silly French and Brits to do his dirty work for him.

1. I thought u were a cruicial member of NATO albania, why don't they want your help in Kosovo?

2. Maybe Berisha needs to get a new interpreter... here it is straight from the horses mouth: "Russia is worried over the recent statements of the Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha suggesting that the unification of the Albanian countries (including Kosovo) should take place as soon as possible."

3. If Berisha associates and conducts business with Thaci and his Terror Squad, doesn't that (by law) make him complicit or a de-facto accessory to the crime which was the illegal UDI?

Albinfo

I agree with you saying this man is dangerous, but only for us albanians. Whoever hates albanians and wants Albania to be the weakest country in Europe, should support him being a prime minister. Regarding 1244, you people should face reality and accept once for good that Kosovo is not going to get back under Serbia ever. It was a tragic mistake which is being (very slowly and very incorrectly) fixed.
