Slowly but surely everything falls into place , what are options for Serbia ... recognize Kosova's indenpedence or isolate themselves, the noose is tightened for each day that passes ...and not for Kosova

Nobody expected (inc. USA and EU) that Serbia will recognize illegal, false state of Kosovo.

“Slowly but surely everything falls into place , what are options for Serbia ... recognize Kosova's indenpedence or isolate themselves, the noose is tightened for each day that passes ...and not for Kosova”

The only noose tightening is the one around the neck of K/Albanians. I can guarantee you that Serbia will not go back to financially supporting you even when Kosovo comes back under its total control. Isolation from the EU, you poor individual you don’t understand that the EU needs Serbia more that the other way around. Try this little puzzle, drive from Berlin to Istanbul through Serbia then do the same driving around it and you might just get the idea of why it’s so vital to the EU and NATO. Trade, well Serbia is not a big country so trading with Russia and China is enough.

Why do you think the Russians are investing so heavily in Serbia and approving loans of over $1B uros. The answer is to eliminate NATO and tighten it grip on Europe.

The latest information is that the printing presses are working overtime in the UK, EU and US to spend more on their economies, so you might ask them to do a couple of billion to help the poor old Kosovars – or maybe not, you’re not that valuable to them. Enjoy you’re 90% plus unemployment.

"The EC also states that “Serbia needs to show a constructive attitude towards Kosovo’s participation in regional trade and cooperation."

Is there anybody who doesn't understand that paragraph? It is really not difficult to understand.
(Berkeley, 7 October 2009 13:40)

I for one don't get it... I mean, saying "Kosovo’s participation in regional trade" implies that Kosovo actually HAS something (LEGAL) to trade, which we all know is not the case...

maybe what the paragraph means is what Jeremic has been saying all along - Kosovo can (and is encouraged to) AUTONOMOUSLY participate and cooperate in all regional affairs such as trade. For things like that Kosovo doesn't need an army, doesn't need a flag, doesn't need a soccer team, what it needs is jobs and not ones provided by UNMIK or EULEX.

Interesting interpretation of the latest developments.
There will be no Kosovo in EU. And no Kosovo in UN. As Spain and Russia will block that.

More and more politicians in the West see that Kosovo issue hasn't solved yet. Kosovo precedent is used by Russia in Caucasus. Croatian presidents says that Kosovo still is an issue.

My friend, please accept that Kosovo will never be state. At best it will be an EU protectorate. Is that what you want?

Your head of state is a Dutchman. Pieter Feith is in control of Kosovo. And you call that independence? Sad...

I agree that the EU should unblock the Interim Trade Agreement with Serbia. Serbia wants to join the EU, therefore the EU needs to make sure that Serbia's economy is up to EU standards before membership. I think it is fair to say that the EU rushed Romania and Bulgaria. The EU should not make the same mistake with the Western Balkan countries such as Serbia and Croatia. They should join when they are ready, but in the meantime, the EU needs to help and support Serbia and the Western Balkans have a fruitful and rich economy so that they can join the EU.

The record of this government's directive towards the EU is appalling. Firstly they unilaterally introduce the interim trade agreement costing Serbia about half a billion Euros a year and we get nothing back. They are weakening Serbia's position towards Kosovo bit by bit. The message of "we'll never recognise Kosovo" is simply not enough. We have a strong hold on Kosovo, especially the North and that should never be under negotiation. The path towards the EU, if the Lisbon treat is completely ratified, will have us lose our independence so I have no idea why we are even pursuing this path. EULEX is a trojan horse and don't trust EULEX PR trying to smooth things over. This group should never be welcome in Serbian controlled areas as we are more than capable to looking after ourselves.

Thank God Russia is gaining influence within Serbia. They are now serious investors helping with infrustructure projects but I do no agree with Russia helping with the budget. Our direction towards the EU is one of the reasons our budget is being drained and there are better ways to deal with this. Just remember that Serbia is stuck between the East and West so we need to find a balance that works best for us and we are currently leaning towards a deceitful West. It's time for some balance.

I was waiting for this move by the EU. It is try to gain concessions from Serbia – “Serbia needs to show a constructive attitude towards Kosovo’s participation in regional trade and cooperation.” This is a de facto recognition of Kosovo and the EU is seeking to force Serbia to financially support this impoverish province through trade. What does Kosovo have to trade? drugs? Human cargo?

In addition, there is the usual clap trap about cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. This entire inquiry is a bluff by the EU because if Serbia rejects this and tells them what to do with their trade agreement, the EU will fold and do nothing. This is another pathetic effort by EU administrators. The subtlety is akin to a drunk trying to quietly enter his home but slamming into doors and crashing into furniture and thinking that no one has notice his arrival.

They are also asking Serbia to ‘hasten reforms that will lead to tangible results in key sectors.” Western double talk for selling all your public assets so that they can control you better.

If Serbia is smart it keep its powder dry and stand its ground and win. The US and EU are desperate to do anything to improve life in Kosovo for their friends. There is a great fear that the Albanians are getting tired of the empty promises and big problems could start in that region.

Where was this commission before the EU signed the trade agreement with Serbia? This is a last minute desperate act hoping that the population will fear that the free movement deal to start next year will fall apart and that in the long run Serbia will not be part of that heaven on earth know as the EU. Well if Serbia does not give in watch this commission disappear from where it came from, under a rock.

The US, UK and UE have started their presses running again and are printing more money because their economies are not moving forward. They are becoming desperate to do something and improve the dreadful living situation in Kosovo.
