Ron,
You seem to be confusing UN with what Russia, which wants to placate Serbia, wants. And, please don't think that countries that have not recognized Kosovo are all with Serbia. Conclusion: it seems Kosovo is here to stay.

To B92,
once this was quite a free media and it was one of the reasons why I have frequently admired some branches of the serbian society. I understand thing have changed, and unfortunatley not in their best sense. Two days ago I tried to send a comment where I was expressing my disappointment regarding the lack of respect for some other's country prime minister, by calling him Albania's Berisha instead of Albania's PM or smth equivalent. I understand you will believe to be in front of an exagerated sensitiviness (and i don't want neither to imagine the reaction of some posters here that just can't wait..), but you know very well which is the point. The only possibility we have, is mutual respect. I am still waiting to see my comment published, but it is possible not to see neither this one. To avoid misunderstandings, I still admire those branches of serbian society, but i can see things are really getting harder for them.

to serbians:
Berisha has already done a deal with serbia for Durres port and the highway is just to allow fazlic and mishkovic to exploit with more efficiency porto romano.
mishkovic has open a supermarket in tirana, and zemun clan is all over albanian cost.thanks to the daughter and the son of berisha who has great connection with bosnoserbs, and has been several time there for his bizness. And cyprus is the place where all the money laundering is done...

Soon we'll see reunited Albania, just like reunited Germany.
(Nelli_Kosova_Canada, 7 October 2009 18:24)

(1) Kosovo is a Serbian province! How can that unite with Albania?

(2) Even IF (!) Kosovo was indepedent: the A-plan states that Kosovo may never merge with an other state.

So even in case of (2) there will never be an Albania-Kosovo merge!

By the way: may South Ossetia then join Russia?

Mr Berisha is Albania's PM but all Albos say that he is the PM of Albanians in the Balkans.
So far he has proven to be the greatest(possibly another Scanderbeg).

Soon we'll see reunited Albania, just like reunited Germany.

1. Was he invited by Serbian president to visit “Serbia”? – NOPE – He was invited by Kosovo Parliament
2. Did he land in Belgrade/Serbia – NOPE – He landed in Kosovo
3. Was there any Serbian Parliament member to great him – NOPE – There were Kosovo Parliament members.
4. Did he sign any agreements with Serbia – NOPE, but he did with Kosovo
5.
So with four “NOPE’s” Dragan, where does Serbia come in the game?

Berisha landed in Priština - capital of Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija - part of Republic of Serbia. So - he landed in Serbia.

Kosovo is, based on facts (not on documents and wishes without no matter), as independent as is Serbia,Macedonia, Montenegro or Albania.
(Pikolomini, 7 October 2009 16:22)

Then what about Abkhazia and Taiwan? Serious answer please!

Pikolomini

Kosovo is and will be never be in the future Serbia.
There is no international law that said that an independent state must be in the UNO to be independent.Former-Yugoslavia ruled by Milosevic was from 1992-2000 wans't memeber of the UNO. there are a theory based on the three elements that justified a state to be independent; they are a state territory, people of this state(that considered that state as hers)and a security force(who protect the borders and interior peace).Kosovo has fullfield all this criteria.

That Serbia is still claiming on the territory of Kosovo is a contretemps of a history of unfairness infront of Kosovo and his people.

moral and other philosophic values has nothing to do with the right of mankind to proclaim there freedom and independency.

Kosovo is, based on facts (not on documents and wishes without no matter), as independent as is Serbia,Macedonia, Montenegro or Albania.

Does the fake, illegal, and immoral 'state' of Kosovo have a seat at the UN?? No, and it never, ever, will.
Therefore, Berisha was visiting Serbia. Nothing I said was incorrect.

Kosovo and Albania wont unite, cos there are different international agreements that stop them, but even if they do, there will be no Great Albania, but just Albania, cos they were together once. so, for u who predict great conspiracies, stop doing it. its worthless. Kosovo and Albania will become one eventually, but this will happen when all the actual politician will be too old or too dead so anyone cares about them and their points of view. it took Germany 40 years to unite, so Kosovo and Albania have all the time in the world to do the same.

"provincial" President Fatmir Sejdiu - how sarcastic an ironic could be serbian media! You shouldn't show your bitterness through coverage. could a "province" signe bilateral agreements on behalf of an independent country. If Serbia is a "true" state, in opposite to the "false" state of Kosovo, so Serbia has to stopp Kosovo acting like a state, what Kosovo is doing every day since 17th February 2009.

Kosovo has now, thanks Tirana, a own access to the sea.Why doesn't give Montenegro a port to Serbia,as a brotherly nation.Nobody trust Belgrade, even not there brotherly nation in Montenegro.

Kosovo and Albania has a function administration with a growing economy. In the past the Albanians has to fought the evil ghosts from the past. Now they are looking to a bright future. the albanians now serves as a good example for the whole region.

B: "Why does France also have a Churchill?"

(Ptoleme, 6 October 2009 20:04)

ok, so Ptoleme, pls give me the reference, i am now curious... BTW, it helped me to add a comma, as in:
"Why, does France also have a Churchill?" sorry, just for clarity.

personally, i do not care for this talk of a "greater albania." i do not find it helpful; i think it just provokes the other side (not that it takes much.)

the goal should be multi-cultural democracies that embrace and protect the rights of ALL people. we really have no choice -- one way or another we all live in multi-ethnic countries, and we'd better learn to make the most of it.

of course it is utterly hypocritical to demand full rights for minorities inside kosovo/a, and not have the same demands for serbia, or other countries. it has to be a basic prerequisite for the EU, and should be for any intl assistance.

we don't need a "greater albania" to build a rich and powerful cooperation btwn kosovo/a and albania, or btwn albanians in general.

as i have mentioned before, if albanians continue to be belittled and oppressed in various counties, they will seek out ways to address these inequalities, as they have every right to.

one way or another, we are all brothers and sisters.

These pages are in English and I would like to point out that perhaps there is something lost in translation here: The Albanian word "komb" can be translated into English as both "nation" and "ethnicity".

There is no denying that Albania's and Kosovo's ethnicity is the same, i.e., Albanian. The question is whether Albanians wish to unite in a single nation-state and I think that due to practical considerations most Albanians will not seek a single state.
Independence from Serbia - which Albanians were able to accomplish - was the one and only sine-qua-non.

BD45

Tirana,

Please stop copying Serbian slogans ("all the constitutional rights that any minority in the world could dream of") and so try to be a little bit more creative and honest (the reality in the ground is quite the opposite). In addition, please enlighten us how Serbia is going to loose Presevo Valley (and not Presheva Valley) and to whom? Will Kosovo and/or Albania invade Serbia or will NATO do their dirty work again? Or will the KLA be reactivated and "liberate" Presevo Valley from "evil" Serbia? Will Presevo Valley become part of Kosovo or Greater Albania? You just worry about what is going on in Albania and leave the silly comment business to people like Kosovo-USA and other infamous Serb-haters who have nothing better to do.

Please tell me how this produces anything other that pleasuring the ego of two Albanian apparatchicks? I mean this is probably the only time Thaci can actually feel like an honest leader. In any other situation, he's either overuled by EULEX, EULEX is writing his scripts, or he's kowtowing to some Western official.

But if it fosters closer cooperation with Tirana I suppose that can't be a bad thing. I mean at the end of the day, we'll see a Belgrade-Mitrovica-Gracanica network on one end and a Tirana-Pristina network on the other. Fair is fair I guess, but let's not be under any pretense that this is a cooperation between two countries.

There is no denying that Albania's and Kosovo's ethnicity is the same, i.e., Albanian. The question is whether Albanians wish to unite in a single nation-state and I think that due to practical considerations most Albanians will not seek a single state.

personally, i do not care for this talk of a "greater albania." i do not find it helpful; i think it just provokes the other side (not that it takes much.)

the goal should be multi-cultural democracies that embrace and protect the rights of ALL people. we really have no choice -- one way or another we all live in multi-ethnic countries, and we'd better learn to make the most of it.

of course it is utterly hypocritical to demand full rights for minorities inside kosovo/a, and not have the same demands for serbia, or other countries. it has to be a basic prerequisite for the EU, and should be for any intl assistance.

we don't need a "greater albania" to build a rich and powerful cooperation btwn kosovo/a and albania, or btwn albanians in general.

as i have mentioned before, if albanians continue to be belittled and oppressed in various counties, they will seek out ways to address these inequalities, as they have every right to.

Or will the KLA be reactivated and "liberate" Presevo Valley from "evil" Serbia? Will Presevo Valley become part of Kosovo or Greater Albania? But if it fosters closer cooperation with Tirana I suppose that can't be a bad thing. I mean at the end of the day, we'll see a Belgrade-Mitrovica-Gracanica network on one end and a Tirana-Pristina network on the other. Fair is fair I guess, but let's not be under any pretense that this is a cooperation between two countries.

That Serbia is still claiming on the territory of Kosovo is a contretemps of a history of unfairness infront of Kosovo and his people.

moral and other philosophic values has nothing to do with the right of mankind to proclaim there freedom and independency.

the term "Great Albania" has been misused a lot.
as ex foreign minister of Germany Frank Walter Steinmyer said: when Germany was united, no one said Great Germany, cos it was together once, divided and the again together.
