Peggy,

That’s the one. You would need pages to write down all of the derogatory statements made by them against non believers.

There are also many others that have not made it to the newspapers and they are even worse then these two. All of this out of a population of 200,000 muslims in Australia.

SJ, you are probably referring to Keysar Trad from Islamic Friendship Society as I was.
This man has been in the media so many times "setting the record straight" as he puts it whenever one of their imams stuffs up.

The last time their Imam said that Australian women deserved to be attacked because they are the same as uncovered meat. He said that when you put meat out there you cannot blame the cats going for it.
This Keysar immediately came on the radio to say how it was all taken out of context and he did not mean that. He is like the cleaner. He mops up after these ridiculous imams here.

Bottom line is that not one ethnic group has been dissatisfied with their opportunities in Australia except the Muslim group. Everyone esle recognises they have the same opportunities and tries to make most of them but the Muslims demand their "rights" to change the very fabric of our society. This is not their right.

Religious education is NOT a part of the national education system in Serbia. The Orthodox Church is not even lobbying for this, so why can't the Muslim community leave this issue alone?
Serbia may be a religious society, but government and faith remain separate, same like in the US and other democratic nations.
Perhaps instead of instigating further divisions, the Muslim community should focus on being a productive part of a nation in transition. Serbia can have a very bright future if it can avoid ethno-religious conflict and continue on their path of economic development and infrastructure improvement.

In the west, it’s the same story over and over again. Muslims arrive in a country to escape poverty and seek a better life and while their numbers are low they remain quite, then a funny thing happens after the numbers increase. They start to demand ‘rights’ such as sharia law, courts system etc and if they don’t get it that’s when trouble starts. It’s a strategy used by this particular religious group throughout the world. Ask the people from the UK.

As far as Australia is concerned the gentlemen who runs this so called Islamic Friendship Society is on the record for translating text from Arabic to English which has highly offensive and disgusting references to non-muslims, such as muslims should not associate with non believers because, and get this, your purity would be affected like ‘pure water is contaminated with a single drop of water from the sewer’. So everyone else is sewer water – nice statement.

Then there is their famous Sheik at a mosque in Sydney and he over the years has dropped some spectacular clangers about no muslims, women wearing short skirts and revealing too much flesh to tempt men. There have been other so called religious leaders making similar statements. Who are these people, troglodytes that can’t control themselves if they see a young women in a short dress?

But it gets better, Australia has 3 particular groups that are grossly over represented in prisons and Lebanese Muslims are one of those groups. There are particular suburbs where they dominate and the unemployment rate is 80% on average.

Australia has people from every corner of this planet and the vast majority work and go quietly about their business and overall try to improve their lot in life except for one group that constantly whines about discrimination and demanding some sort of special rights. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!

Constant appeasement does not work, they only see this as weakness that should be exploited further. If they have the same opportunities as everyone else then the answer is emigrate to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia or Indonesia to seek those religious aspects they are missing out on.

Just yesterday we had a representative of Islamic Friendship go on television and suggest that we should allow a man to have more than one wife. He states that this way man would become equal with a woman because he cannot give birth and is therefore not equal now. He also said that since men cheat anyway, this would provide them an opportunity to become more honest and protect the other woman legally should they break up.

Does anyone see sharia law creeping into Australia? When Muslims speak of rights they speak of more rights than anyone else or the right to live under sharia law.

If you want your laws then go to an Islamic country where you will feel comfortable. There is no room for sharia law in a civilized, modern country.

We are constantly hearing about Muslims demanding rights. How come nobody else does and has not done up to now and we have had a lot of immigrants come to our shores here in Australia?
Watch out Serbia. Looks like the Muslims either never had any rights and are demanding them now or they are wanting something else disguised as rights.

i agree that religion doesn't belong to schools.

but i would like to remind the pro-serbian posters here what it means to be demonised in the west. shame on you for trying to exploit the anti-islamic sentiment while trying to combat the same set of prejudices that the muslims face now.

The purpose of universities is to educate people, not to spread religious beliefs - that should be done in mosques or churches. You cannot teach religion in American schools, and the US is the model of democracy, isn't it?

20 years ago there were barely any muslims in Sweden. Now, close to 5-10 percent of the population is muslim. They are demanding that sharia be introduced in areas where muslims are a majority. They also want to change textbooks in school to be more in line with islam beliefs. The swedish government has so far said no but what will happend in 20 years when muslims make up a majority of the total population in Sweden? You give muslims your hand, they will take your head.

This is exactly the type of attitude that people are fed up with. It's no wonder intolerence has grown so much in recent years. These so called 'special groups' keep pushing well beyond any reasonable limits and in return increase tension amongst all groups. It really just boils down to one thing, you can't just cry like a baby and get everything you want whenever you want it. Enough with this nonsense!
