Once again, well done Mesic, he has my vote in lots of ways. If only he had more power than some of these old Tudjmanite cronies.

Lenard:
"O Croatian President Stjepan Mesić if it was only the good old days of communism you so relish. You could have Thompson and his band shot"

Well, while I don't advocate Thompson be "shot", nevertheless the situation you describe sounds a great deal preferable to the current one where ustasis like Thompson can run around spreading their hate and filth.

And the Croats think they will get into the EU. The President is trying to cover up the whole mess while the Foreign Minister is protesting against the ban. Is this Minister so thick as not to understand why Mesic is doing this? I have said it before, no sooner than things become quite some big shot puts his foot in his mouth.

Even though perkovic doesn't sing about Ustasa, they were FREEDOM fighters.
Nothing to be ashamed of.
serbian/communist propaganda about these heroes has been widely used for 50 years - for one purpose....to cloak the crimes that yugo-communists (led from belgrade) committed - we are talking about the biggest mass murder post ww2 in europe where hundreds of thousands of Croatian patriots and their families were slaughtered in cold blood. Pits with mountains of bones are still being discovered in Croatian countryside.

O Croatian opposition to Mesic - will you never understand that sometimes the man is right?

Isn't it about time that you let go of this hero neo-fascist etc? I wouldn't stand for such a nationalist singer in Serbia giving the country a bad name and upsetting sections of my country's population.

The war is over. This man who profitted immensely from the war in his carrer should also be finished. Except - some Croats seem to view Tompson with some kind of misty eyed nostalgia - when we were Victims, where clearly there is no space for non Croats ('but of course its not against them').

Still, its much easier believing this is some evil from the EU right? And not continuing signs of national trauma.

Well I'm glad to see it's official now! Croatia officially supports the Nazi lyrics, and the sieg heil salute of Thompson.
Will this hurt that country's EU ambitions?? Not at all, their German friends will push them through and bully the rest of Europe into allowing them. That is how things work now.

O Croatian President Stjepan Mesić if it was only the good old days of communism you so relish. You could have Thompson and his band shot with no questions dared to be asked. Then you might had a revolution of misguided young people singing decadent western music on your hands were will it stop.
