You are right Dim, a lot has to improve in the filtering... I was called a cowherder (actually the Swiss in general) by an k-alb and I found it funny and reminded me of the great time I had with my grand father while caring for a few cows and goats...
If this kind of comparaison would be the only offense I'll be happy but unfortunately much worst is poored here!!

Mike,

I agree with you I think N.Mitro should have a choice.

People in this part of Balkans are not able yet to forget past, not that I blame them just I would say both sides go on their way.

Let R.Serpska be a country or Join Serbia as well same for Hercegovina either go with Croatia or be Bosnia.

everyone would prosper in this situations, Serbia has part of their dream but sou would the rest its a win win for everyone.

Yugoslavia did not work why now brake it all up and meet each other in EU if so population chooses.

If parents and children cant live together now days how can you put people with so much hate together.

" Shala said that visa liberalization for Serbia could lead to a further exodus of Serbs from Kosovo, which was a barrier to the goal of a multi-ethnic Kosovo."

And that's our worst nightmare! The dream of having a multi-ethnical state just vanishes.

In other news, Kosova and Albania are the only two countries that experienced GDP growth this year according to IMF:

"Kosovo's GDP per capita is expected to reach 1731 euros by the end of the year.

The IMF has slightly revised its predictions for Albanian growth for 2009, expecting the country's GDP to improve by 0.7 per cent, from 0.4 per cent in the previous estimates. According to the IMF statistical database, Albania's nominal GDP will increase by 2.2 per cent in 2010, returning to a more typical growth rate of 6 per cent in 2011. GDP per capita will increase a slight 0.2 per cent this year to 2598 euros. IMF projections are published twice a year, in April and October.

Bulgaria will experience a 6.5 per cent fall in GDP this year, and 2.5 per cent in 2010. GDP per capita in Bulgaria is currently 3439 euros.

Serbia's GDP will fall 4 per cent this year, before growing 1.5 per cent in 2010. GDP per capita in Serbia is 3949 euros."

I urge Serbs NOT to participate in these illegal elections. Please do not legitimize illegal Kosovo independence!

And EULEX should be fully status neutral. So it can and should not endorse activities like this.

Again: please do NOT participate!

Whether the K Serbs vote in the EULEX-sanctioned elections or elections of their own, no serious person believes the Serbs will vote to integrate themselves into the Albanian-dominated political structure. I fully and completely support the K Serb initiative to take political, social, cultural, and economic matters into their own hands, and whether they want to link up with Belgrade or form an autonomous unit in Mitrovica is completely up to them. The "multiethnic" Kosovo that armchair diplomats want so bad for show can only arise if parallel institutions are established.

The comments above are odd and contrary to modern historical trends. Some would rather be living on a past age. And please don't think you represent the Serbian national interests.

Go home Feith.

"He said that the European Commission would be publishing its progress report soon, which would reflect the situation and enable further steps in Kosovo's European integration."

Probably not worth the paper is will be written on. The Commission is well known for its wordy reports.

The only trusted organization in Kosovo (by Kosovo Serbs, Albanians and others) WAS the Kosovo Ombudsperson who published regular reports on the situation for people living there. Unfortunately since the last Ombudsperson's, Anton Marek Nowicki, firing (sorry, 'term not extended') back in 2005
for criticizing the 'international community' for ignoring his calls to act in protecting the vulnerable,
it has slipped back into irrelevance as it has still not been 'agreed' (i.e. between the albanians and the internationals) as to who would replace him and remains 'temporarily' headed by the kosovo albanian deputy. How convenient.

Still, even the 'old' yearly reports are worth reading, particularly the special and annual reports:

He warned the Kosovo authorities of the big problem with corruption, adding that this problem would soon be tackled head on, which would affect a large number of powerful individuals.

Yes, we are waiting for this - so actions speak louder than words. Lets see if EULEX can earn its first grain of respect.

However, EULEX is not needed in Serbian control parts of KiM. We are more than capable of dealing with the rule of law ourselves.
