Let them live their lives in freedom and there won't be any problems. However, if you force them to accept imigrants from Albanian to rule them then there will problems you can't even imagine.

Demi -- thanks for sharing about yr family history, and for the link as well. i've read a lot of this history, but it is a good source of condensed and tormented history here, and should be made public and spread. that is one thing that we share, to know the feeling of being part of a despised minority, whose ancestors have long been oppressed, slaughtered, on the run.

i still do not understand why certain people think they own this site -- they and their ideology do not. they can give their views, and the rest of us ours. there is no monopoly, only in their imaginations.

i want to add something here: why i have always tried so hard to separate "the serbs" from the hateful nationalists in their midst. i mean why bother? i don't win any brownie points from them, nor from most of my albanian frnds and acquaintances who are not always so keen to make such fine distinctions.

but i've personally been fortunate to meet so many individuals in and from the balkans, and they are NOT all the same. any more than ALL americans or ALL french are the same. yes, many serbs have been affected, some would argue brainwashed, or pressurized by these nationalist ideas, some would say poisons. but there are also many who have refused to go along, who reject these societal expectations. and one of them is andrej nosov, who, as we have just read, together w/the Youth Initiative is helping organize the PEACE march, along with various human rights groups there. and i believe that at least among young people there is sympathy to this liberal, human-rights POV.

that is one very significant reason why I "preach" about the problems with marginalizing these voices in the media -- almost all you read about (here) is tadic claims this, jeremic threatens that... really, it's too much. but from sonia, natasa, andrej, or so many others inside serbia you have to go way outside this media, certainly in its english version. that is a problem. that is a shortcoming. and that tendency, on a much larger scale, leads to the kind of problems we have been seeing as of late, that kind of tragedy.

anyway, hope springs eternal for change, for progress, and my hopes and prayers are with the PEACE train, which needs to visit here as well.

my latest chapter of war, and peace :))

Hahaha, smart man. Everytime I hear this quoted from his visit to Serbia I get a good laugh. Please don't misunderstand me, I too agree with this policy, after all a democratic Kosovo has to respect it's Serb minority. Btw, for all of you misinformed or simply in denial about Kosovo's demograpahics, current 94% Albanian ethnic majority number hasn't changed in the last 15 years, the least to say.

MikeC my family on my mother side were from Pllana e madhe (Velika plana) in today Serbia. As much as I know from the old ones they moved to Vushtrri(vuqitrn) because of serbian repression on albanians in 1812. Don't forget that 300 000 albanians from the Nis area were deported to Turkey after the balkanwar 1912. From my father side they moved from Decan to Mitrovica in the 17'th century. It was three brothers who later on formed three village sorrunding Mitrovica.

And me as well dosen't know about somebody moving from Albania to Kosovo. Never heard of it and personally I don't know anyone. It is clear serb propaganda coming from serb nationalist and and your former president 'you know who'.

You don't know anyone that immigrated from Albania! I guess you don't know many Albanians then? If you are from Leskovac then I am from the planet Tatoine. If serbs consider this a Senior US official then you guys have really stooped to a new low. There are several reasons why real Senior US officials will not give you the time of day, most notably lack of cooperation and admission of war crimes committed in the 90's, connections to pariah states like Venezuela and Libya, and the facts that Serbs act as Russian proxy in Europe. Serbs are just not friends of the Western Democratic world. Lets face it your values have more in common with Duma than Democracy.

You want to improve the lives of Serbs in Kosovo? As long as most of the EU supports illegal Kosovo independence there will be no peace and no prosperity there.

Hey Mike,
I see that you have been manipulated and misinformed with the immigration thing.
