d.hill: "WBalkans is the sickest place I have ever been."

Wow, don't you sit in judgement?! You can't have travelled very extensively then.

"Turning your head back" as you put it is hardly surprising after 2 decades of recent war, is it?

If the same had happened in France, Britain or Germany, would people be so welcoming towards outsiders as they are in Belgrade?

Apart from the recent spate of violence, I have always found people in your 'sick' W. Balkans to be hospitable, kind and welcoming. Despite the role of, and attacks by, other nations in the wars.

Backward ideas and prejudices are a threat to any nation, both from the inside and from the outside. And your bigotry is hardly enlightened.

d.hill, you must not seen much. Get out more often, and see more of the world, it will open your eyes. You have a closed view, and your comment is offensive.

Croatia like all these countries in the EU that think they have real veto power - they do what they are told. Just ask the Poles when they had a dispute with Russia recently. The response from the EU was officially “working towards an amicable settlement”, which is diplomatic speak for ‘remove those barriers’ and very soon they did as they were told.

ATM,

Croatia has gone on record that they will not hinder Serbia. Perhaps Serbia can help Croatia reclaim Herzgovina?

Question to all, If Croatia enters EU and they hate Serbia as much as we know they do would that mean NO EU for Serbia ... Just putting it out there

You are right, Gazda. I did not see Kouchner kissing Kostunica, or any Serbian political figure, for that matter. I guess he is not unbiased, or just prefers Albanians.

His recent role in let us save pedophil Roman Polanski campaign indicates that he likes everything but justice.

Is this the same guy I saw a couple years back kissing cap-wearing Albanians in Pristina? He is no friend of Serbia, I do not want to read his jibberish.

Oh yes, please have an EU-Western Balkan conference and invite Le Kouchner so he can throw flower petals on to water and teach us all how to 'lerve' and kill people at the same time.

On the journey I am sure he will find lots of Serbian villagers to totally ignore as he waves his hand like The Queen out of his Merc window.

I have always been in 2 minds about the EU, but of late and reading the tripe that they all come out with, even I am starting to feel decidedly anti-EU. Especially now that Herr Mandelson seems to be pushing the UK further towards Brussels. I wonder if his Brazilian boyfriend ever did get a pass, so to speak.

Definitely not worth losing any territory over!
