The only reason why organized crime is such an issue in northern Kosovo is because it's a rival enterprise for both Pristina and the Drenica clan. If there's ever one to look at organized crime and trafficking in Kosovo, look no further than the border with Montenegro.

As for the article in hand, I don't understand why there is such rampant criminality in northern Kosovo if Kosovo is such an idyllic multi-ethinc state. Those serbs must sure be evil to undermine the kosovo albanian paradise that has come into being for all those living on the territory of Kosovo since the West so wisely decided to grant it nominal 'independence'

I really don't see any reason for EULEX to be in any Serbian controlled part of KiM. If they have an agreement with MUP then MUP should be there looking after loyal citizens while EULEX can use the extra resources to focus on the many thousand unsolved crimes committed against Serbians and to crack down on crime in ethnic Albanian sections.

EULEX should focus on completing its technical role and then to get out of Serbia. That includes good cop and bad cop. ;)

Actually EULEX/US are controlling the entire Serbia too.

Your comment was not based on any reality apparent to EUROPOL, the OSCE and other bodies who all know that crime, traffiking etc. is rampant throughout Kosovo, therefore you were deliberately misrepresenting the situation there.
