I forgive your ingnorance.

Believe me, Police are not paid by the organizers in the first place.

Secondly, this madness (parade) was held in the last weekend of summer, in the worst possible moment, apart from Christmas, Hanuka, Ramadan, you name it...

Explain the loss of business to those economic crisis stricken small businesses who lost their daily income.

Oh, I forgot, they are compensated by the proud feeling of being trendy, tolerant etc.

Just a few points...
@Hruz
I always thought that these parades were paid for by the organisers, not the government, so where did the millions of Taxpayer's euros disappear to? I may be wrong about that but I know that cafes and bars would have gained trade not lost it (if people felt safe enough to watch the parade, that is)
When was the Hungarian Parade? Was it held on an extremely busy Saturday afternoon? The last shopping day before Christmas? What businesses were closed down for the duration? Mobile Phone shops? Estate Agents? Haberdashers?
@Sovjgazda
Are you really that intolerant?.Don't Serbs have respect for others?
You don't have to agree with something to allow the freedom of others to do so if they choose.
It is the governments job to ensure the safety of all it's citizens-by the people,of the people, for the people-so yes, the army should have been sent to protect the marchers. Serbian gays are Serbians too and should have been allowed their parade.
When the resrictions on visas are lifted, there won't be many places for you to visit...except maybe Iran...which is a shame because you really should visit London in late June/early July.
hehehehe ;)

>>Organizers of the protests stated that the Pride Parade should have been held on September 20, but that the event fell through because of “the government’s inability to cooperate.”

“Instead, the extreme right achieved victory. In a campaign that last over a month, it succeeded by threatening the potential participators of the parade. Despite the international solidarity, the Belgrade government refused to protect the participators against fascist violence. This is why we are organizing a demonstration in front of the Serbian embassy in Vienna on September 30,” the organizers stated.>>

as always, we support the actions of members of the lgbt community, in serbia and around the world.

really, to be lgbt and "out" in serbia or most places in E europe deserves a damn medal. we are not even discussing russia or most of the islamic countries. the homophobes may have the power there for the time being, but change will happen, whether they like it or not. history is on the side of democratic multi-culturalism. stuff your fascist nationalisms and hatreds!

thank you.

and again, i have to admit, in this one particular case of lgbt coverage, b92's coverage is good.

Shame on whoever is citing here Hungary.

Hungarians suffered the consequences of this homosexual "pride" parade, taxpayers paid millions of euros for organizig, securing the event and the loss of the businesses that had to be shit down for the parade.

Next time there will be no parade hopefully, especially if this arrogance goes on from the "proud" community.

Enough is enough.

Maybe Serbs don't care for all that is allowed in these degenerate times we live in? Believe me, it is not just the radical fringe element in Serbia that is disgusted with homosexuality, most normal Serbs are. Anyway, I understood that the Serb government could not guarantee safety for the parade participants, why can the gays not accept that? Should Tadic have sent in the Serbian army to protect gay marchers? Please, Serbia is not ready to accept this Western tolerance of perversion, hopefully it never will. First things first, let's loosen the visa / travel requirement, that is a lot more important than gay parades.
