People fear what they do not understand. It is a shame that after 8 years, it does not look as if things have changed much. Maybe if those from the gay community could meet with moderates and talk? A true coalition will need to be made of all people. I imagine there are thousands of families across Serbia that have children and friends who are gay. They know these individuals to be loving and really quite normal. Left-handed people aren't average--but people do not fear them. However, the church once taught that left-handedness was a sign of the devil. Fear inspired by ignorance. I believe the only way to heal this is in knowing, on a personal level, this just isn't true.

Peggy, why is it necessary to compare the hate of Serbs for other Serbs to what you think the Albanians may or may not do? Are Albanians your standard of good behavior? Do you secretly aspire to be just like them? Albania's prime minister has come out in support of same-sex marriage. Why isn't that the example you wish to follow?

Belgrade has become the European Capital of Homophobia.

Besides, Serbian defenders of Homophobia took off the mask, that made them look mature enough for to join the EU. Obviously they are not.

The people seeking to hold the parade are Serbs themselves. This is an instance of Serbs hating Serbs, which only serves to demonstrate to the outside world that Serbs love to hate so much, they hate themselves as well. Stop pretending you are victims. Clearly, you are the instigators of violence, in whatever direction, not the recipients.

As much as I disagree with the ban on the parade I disagree with your statement even more.

If banning the parade means that Serbs hate Serbs then when are we going to hear about this parade being held in Tirana or Pristina?

Let's see how much Albanians have for their fellow Albanians.

Much closer to fascism is beating those who have views you disagree with.

Nowhere in the bible does it advise doing this.

Still, if cancelling this protest can remove the hate from the hearts of those that bitterly oppose it that may be a good thing.

But its a shame that those that profess to be religous have hatred in their hearts in the first place.

God sees everything...

If we can ban things then the future looks different.

For example, I don't agree with religion. Does this mean that we can close down churches?

I have no taste for the nationalists - can we ban them too?

I have no taste for 'gay' culture - but I do support their right to demonstrate.

Internationally the world is learning that the prejudices of the past are no longer acceptable.

Some countries will take longer than others. But they will change.

what a great day for Serbia!Proud to be a Serb.Serb-bashers say this is undemocratic, but I say trying to force a perversion on the majority of God fearing society is called FASCISM.God bless Serbia.
