Yes, and let's also not forget that under the Ahtisaari Plan, Serbian schools are allowed to operate within the same educational curriculum as the rest of Serbia (a risky move if you ask me, since that only perpetuates parallel societies). Parallel institutions are in fact PROVIDED in the very plan Pristina is trying to impose, but for some reason some Albanians here forgot to read.
----

That's when you accept the plan! You cannot ask for rights from something you don't recognize.

The Albanian schools in Fyrom will follow that of Albania and Kosova too. All three will have ONE curriculum very soon.

And what about primary school children? Do you think it is safe for them to travel 15km on their own to the nearest school?

What is this, third world country? In order to study online you must have access to a computer. These people don't have access to electricity most of the time and you are talking about studying online. Are you serious?

Mike C. I like your comments, because they show, that you get your information for them far away from the Balkans, mostly from the well informed Unity Serbian Congress. Even if you are right with the amount of 250.000 Serbs, which have left Kosovo, be sure that not all were driven out of the country. Some left out of free will, because they have committed crimes and now wisely prefer to stay in Serbia proper. If you count on to it the extended family of those persons, who at the moment know, that in Serbia no one will recognize them and accuse for their committed crimes, then you'll have a large amount of Serbs who don't want to return. Also in those cases EULEX is waiting for them, because their names are known in Kosovo, but who cares in Serbia, where so far they live unmolested?!

Welcome to Kosovo!
Guys, i think politics should be left aside and learn to live together. Everything around us is imaginary, we are people after all and we should stop and think for our children's future rather than worry about myths and history. We make history and that is living peacefully, we are tired of wars, I think we should learn lessons from our terrible past!

"...respect the rule of law of Kosova's institutions is welcome!"

That would be no law for the average albanians, hence the continuation and expansion of blood feuds between families as the police cannot be trusted to deal fairly and without corruption. And even less law for anyone who isn't Albanian, whether Serb, Roma, Gorani or other.

Continued absence of effective law enforcement in northern albanian (much like Pakistan's FTA) also plays a significant factor in inhibiting stabilization, but it looks like the fat bribes that orgnized crime regularly make to the politicians are just too big to ignore.

I bet there was no need for some agreement of reciprocity, as Serbs were asking in Mitrovica. For all of those who are against returning process in Mitrovica, Kroi i Vitakut(Brcane) and other parts in Kosovo, this should serve as an example of how to welcome returnees and support them.

You and other albanians should not take credit for something you did not do! It's thanks to EULEX that schools and infrastructure in Kosovo is being upgraded. It's thanks to EULEX that there are any Serbs left and that churches are being rebuilt. Remember who is running the province. If you were really independent you wouldn't have EULEX.
(MikeC, 19 September 2009 19:41)

You seem to thank EULEX for everything , but the truth of the matter is that EULEX is not even 40% operational and its mandate went into effect as of December 9, 2008.
Trust me, I have been in Kosova for some time and i have been watching eulex, especially police and they are worthless. Getting paid doing nothing. EJ , Can I get a hefty salary for doing nothing?

I am not from Kosovo, but waht language will these children be learning in? Are there Serbian schools in Klina?

The biggest question is jobs! Do these returnees really believe they will get a job over an Albanian? That is why these municapalities need to kick in so Serbs can get a fair life. Just ask Serbs that live in Croatia. It will be more difficult for Serbs in Kosovo as the language is completly different along with surnames, cultural, etc...

I think they should consider building schools, medical centres etc. before they return people to those areas. You cannot just repair a house and think the infrastructure and institutions will take care of themselves.

I hope they stay welcome indefinately and not just welcome initially while the world is watching.

Dear Peggy,
Was there ever a school in that village during Milos time or before the war???
Ministry of education has been building schools in very remote areas that never had them before. i am sure thye will built one if these people want to get education in Republic of Kosova schools, but if they want republic of serbian schools then they are free to go there.

Well look who's talking! You are the ones who always try to find a needle in the haystack by finding something negative about Serbs in basically every story at this forum. The Albanians in this story have not been subjugated to pressure from their leaders. That is why this type of co-existance is posible, at least in this area. Some weeks ago Serbs returning to Djakovica had to turn back because of hostile Albanian crowds chanting the name of the terrorist organization uck.
Besides, we are talking about 10 or so houses. When the 250.000 Serb refugees are able to go back we can celebrate.

"If only Belgrade will leave K-Serbs alone and not impose things and use them as pawns, everything will be just fine."

-- Actually, we need to amend that to 'If only Pristina and Albanian extremists will leave K-Serbs alone and not impose things and use them as pawns, everything will be just fine.' Let's not completetly disregard the incessant attempt by Albanians to impose their own will on Serbs that want nothing to do with them or their "state". Leave them alone, let them do their own thing, and you'd be surprised how easy it can be for Serbs and Albanians to live side by side. Start forcing them to abide by your authority, restrict their access, subject them to random arrests, and do nothing when crimes are committed against them, and Feith may just carve out another Serb municipality.

I am happy to hear that there are no problems at present for the returning Serbs.

I think that they should do something about a school though. Fifteen kms is too far for children to trave. Do they have adequate transport? Are they safe to travel that distance and what ages those children are?

Good news this is. But as far as the jobs and schools is concerned, I, as an Albanian, must add that even we, the Albanians, deal with the same problems, but not only.

Having in mind the global economic crisis, one should be aware that finding a job is getting very hard these days all over the world, and by this I'm not trying to defend or accuse anyone, just trying to draw a line between my country, Kosova, and other world countries.

Hope these families will have all the benefits one in need should have and I fully support the return process of the non-Albanians who have left Kosova before, during and after the war, and of course the return of the Albanians who have fled Serbia during the same period of time!

And please, don't start with numbers and calculations, we are all aware of that, so please just support this process, not much to ask!

Also in those cases EULEX is waiting for them, because their names are known in Kosovo, but who cares in Serbia, where so far they live unmolested?!

What is this, third world country? In order to study online you must have access to a computer. These people don't have access to electricity most of the time and you are talking about studying online. Are you serious?
