Ataman sure you might get your view of things from jokes but it is much more serious than that. Just like gravity you cant see it or feel or really quantify it but if we didn't have it we would not be around. But if people chose to ignore the laws of gravity and jumped from varying hights they would suffer the varying consequences of ignoring it. The same is true of sin and of morale laws for the individual ,society and the world. The more you ignore the worse it gets. The same God made gravity and other physical laws like electricity ,nuclear etc. He also made morale spiritual laws and if we dare ignore them and think we know better then God who made them we are then truly fools for now also very serious eternal ramification for all the human race. I know it is less and less appreciated Gods laws but we ignore at our own peril and demise they still stand test of wisdom just like physical laws.

Lenard,

You are like that Gypsy from a Hungarian joke during Communism.

One day the Gypsy decided to immigrate to America. He submitted the paperwork to the Communist party and after few month was called for an interview.

"Comrade Lakatos, why did you decide to settle on the enemy's territory and not build the Socialist future of your homeland?"

"You see, Comrade Szabó - I am really afraid of my future"

"How come???"

"You know... THAT gay thing... it was prohibited during Horthy.... Than it became tolerated as Comrade Kádár become our leader. But now I am running away before it becomes mandatory for everyone if Comrade Kádár would die"

Have a nice one, but no,it's not mandatory here in Hungary (yet). And hopefully will be more tolerated one day.... because it's not sin, just unusual and if things go bad, always "good" to blame.

Love all people! Father Nikolaj, 17 September 2009 20:20. Thats fine love the sinner but not the sin. Thats why you have to tell the Sodomites were they will end up if they don't repent. Just like Jesus brought judgment to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Genesis 18:20
Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous
Genesis 18:19-21 They were destroyed physically and eternally ,separated from God.

It is of my opinion to just ignore these events. If no one shows up to witness them, it's like they never happened.

That's precisely what I am saying. But please no big conspiracy theories, they are laughable. Such parade should be executed very carefully regarding the taste. The picture what comes immediately in mind (gyrating half-nacked people) does hurt the taste of many and does not help the otherwise well-intented message. It also gives a completely wrong picture about what homosexuality really is.

‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
‘Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
‘Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Don’t worry guys, it’s not contagious and it won’t wipe off on your children.

Lenard, roughly 10% of any population is gay, not 1%.

I happen to live near San Francisco, so I have a lot of trouble understanding just what you guys are all afraid of? You’ll see more nudity at Spring Break or Carnival or whatever. Personally I think the riots after athletic championships in Belgrade are more destructive for the fabric of society than a handful of people who like to dress up in weird ways.

In fact a lot of couples are moving into the Castro district in San Francisco because it’s an excellent and safe place to raise your children.

I’m married with 4 children, so no hidden agenda for me.

They can parade in their own bedrooms. 99% of society is not interested in the lewd prancing princesses in public places what nonsense grow up.
(Lenard, 17 September 2009 17:33)

Lenard,

You are not interested, I am not interested, neither others here, it's up to us - we can (and I certainly do) ignore that event. I am not going to judge them either, nothing to judge - it's part of Mother Nature, that's the way some people are, do we (or they) like it or not.

For instance, some on Balkans love the "boza" drink or rakija made of anise (like mastika). I don't like mastika, I don't like boza - but I like ayran. I will continue to drink ayran and won't touch boza... but if someone likes mastika and boza - up to them. But not me.

From point of view of aestetics and taste: that's where such event is difficult to handle well. Again, it's up to them, too - but if it is tasteless in the public, they have the 100% responsibility if the message is wrong and the "rest of us" are alienated.

And of course what happens on private property belongs to private property. I am talking about public events.

As for politics: here the intent is good (the message is "let people be more tolerant") - how it is handled is an other question. But it is not my problem and I do have enough my own problems, do not need one more extra.

ataman, sarcasm does not help in understanding people's views. If you have different opinions, I respect that - but don't try and make fun of individuals with opposing ones. Gay Pride parades are more political than anything else. Look at the media attention they receive. It is of my opinion to just ignore these events. If no one shows up to witness them, it's like they never happened. I personally find homosexuality repulsive, so I stay away from Gay Pride events. Government should stay out of bedrooms.

In the Western world, these marches are called “Gay Pride.”

These have nothing to do with prejudice against homosexuals and everything to do with a hidden political agenda to undermine local cultures and traditions.

Those who invented the Gay Pride parades are not the flamboyant homosexuals we see on our TV screens, prancing around half naked in our streets. The sponsors of Gay Pride, and a thousand other “human rights” organisations around the world, are the world’s economic and political elite who want to do away with nations and cultures, and replace them with an empty consumer society with no limits to excess, and debt slavery for all.
