SPC compares Pride Parade to "Sodom and Gomorrah"

By equating the Pride Parade with “Sodom and Gomorrah” the SPC is fuelling extremists who threaten violence, instead of calling for tolerance, say organizers.

They do not love to gyrate on the street half-naked imitating sexual acts.
(Ataman, 18 September 2009 14:21)

Than wy are they doing it in most parades? Just to provoke non-gays?
(Joe, 18 September 2009 18:56)

Basicly this is what these "supershows" are about .What went on in Budapest 2 weeks ago is much more than a simple scandal.First of all the main arteries were closed a day before:I live in Király street about 100 meters from where this march of exibitionists (because this is what they are IMO normal gays who do not want to provoke majority stayed out of these show and I do not think that are too happy that some sick provocators represent their "rights").My neighbour's car which was parked about 50 meters from the route(in his habitual place BTW)was taken away by police the night before the march and he could not take his family for the weekend trip to lake Balaton, old people protesting against the march were beaten by policeman, families had a weekend destroyed because the march took place in parks and strolling roads often visited by parents with kids.Shops in the central zone had to be closed because people were unable to approach them and it was also impossible at the that weekend of high season for tourists to approach the most important sights and museum. This is all big loss to economy together with the billions of forints which had to be paid to secure these exibitionists.Of cours both domestic and international media failded to report these things they concentrated on a small group of neo-nazis trying to say that they were the only protesters who tried to disturb this event.Well I doubt that most pensioners who were not able to do their week end shopping and got angry bacause of this march are Gárda members.
The whole thing is just a part of sorosian pink revolution a destructive phenomenon which aims to destroy the long-time fundaments of our cultures and sociaties. It is areal shame that sorosian Central Europen University where the janichars of this revolution are trained is based in Budapest.

Probably because there are clowns in every community, be them gay or straight or what-not. Otherwise I am a wrong person to ask, cannot tell more details, raised three children and my interests are completely in-line with most conservative expectations. ;-)

This is just wrong. Why bother having a parade- want rights for stupidity to be protected...

I wonder what would happen if they had a gay parade down the streets of Pristina? We'd really see some euro values come out from the alabanians then!

Gay people love to parade
(Nikola, 18 September 2009 08:24)

Disagree with your entire comment - and most with that part. Normal gay people love to be let in peace, not to be attacked, not to be marginalized and not discriminated against.

They do not love to gyrate on the street half-naked imitating sexual acts.

Serbia has a notorious image in the world about hate, racism. Hell they don't even have a word for the word racism in the dictionary (Google it). I can't believe the ultra nationalists and the belowed fascist church is behind violance yet again (as always). Don't they care about the image of Serbia? Don't they want to make it better and invite the tourists in thus making their own lives better by capturing foreign dollars? Look at Montenegro, ever since it split from "Drago Srbijo" people have been flocking there more so than ever!

Gay people love to parade, these kind of things are common in all westernized countries who don't give a fuck just mind their own business - why can't serbia stop thinking like in the days of cows and sheep herding and move into the 21st century and just let people do whatever the hell they want?

Time to improve your image Serbia, right now it's getting attacked everywhere in the world and that's not helping your already foul image everywhere.

This is BS. The "politically correct" mentality has taken hold of the US and EU to the point where the value system is in the dump. If someone wants to engage in homosexual behavior, then they should keep in their bedroom and NOWHERE else. When did so many supposedly rational people begin to say "homosexuality" was not an psychological disorder? These people are not normal and I don't think societies should accept this type of behavior. Some of Serbia's officials are promoting this because they want to kiss the ass of the US and EU (traitors). Keep this garbage in the bedroom and NOT in the streets...we don't care about their sexual desires.

SPC “has never, nor will ever call for violence against anyone.”

Oh really?

How come the orthodox church repeatedly condoned and excused the genocide in Bosnia, then?

1990s were a black stain on the SPC, never to be removed.

If God created the heavens and the earth, animals and humans, that means that he also created gays. SPC should embrace them just like any other human being.

Thanks, Ment - couldn't have been said better. Good taste is a key element for such event because otherwise it achieves just the opposite.

It saddens me so many of my brothers in the SPC speak more about hatred than love. I fear they have lost sight of the beloved Jesus Christ.

Luke 7.12 (NIV):
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

While I support gays having the same rights as everyone else (I hope Berisha does go through with his plans of legalizing gay marriage), I don't necessarily agree with these "Gay Pride" parades. If we're all the same, what's so special about being gay that it deserves a (sometimes distasteful) carnival?

winston

pre 14 godina

There should never be violence used against people who are different than you. I do not support open homosexuality, it is a sexual preference, so do what you want in your own bedroom. But please, do not ask me to accept something I find repulsive. When everything is allowed in society, with few restrictions, it is certainly the beginning of the end for that society. History shows that.

Vaso

Unfortunately Mr. Karadzic cannot equate negative attitudes towards homosexuals as a problem stemming from the "nationalist" nineties. Condescending views towards homosexuals have existed for thousands of years and very few societies have condoned that type of behavior ever in the history of the world. What else is there to say? Shall we continue to blame every single attitude that Serbs have today on the nineties? Why cannot we blame some of those attitudes on communism? Why? Because there are still a large number of former party members and active communists in today's government? Interesting.

Its not enough that the SPC 'does not call for violence against anyone'.

In this case the SPC just needs a brief statement to condemn those considering violence against protesters.

One might say in defence of SPC that they need not have a specific official position on the parade. However, owing to the fact that members of the SPC clergy took part in verbally abusing (and not trying to restrain the violent) the protest last time round, they have a responsibility to send a clear message that violence is to be condemned.

“The church I go to, and that’s the SPC, always taught me that Christian values were understanding each other and peacefully settling disputes that exist and always will exist in society. But, what’s important is for us to show that we, as a society, have left the Nineties behind us, at least with the knowledge that violence and wars are the greatest enemy to a society,” said Karadžić.

Well said Mr. Karadzic and I comend you for your stand. I wish everyone on this site will do the same.
