Well Ataman you overtook me.
I was about to ask Joe to name any more multiethnic and tolerant country between Gdansk and Athens.Maybe the guy is a bit misled by some articles he read on Hirkeresõ.hu.For an irodakukac(man sitting behind desk) it is always more difficult than for a person with first hand experiance to see the reality.

Do not know, but feel free to name a more tolerant one on Balkans, Hungary Romania and Slovakia included - but without Slovenia. I am all ears. Or if you like - "csupa fül vagyok".

"Serbia is very multi-cutltural and bends over backwards to accomodate its minorities, and is by far the most tolerant country in the Balkans."

Since when???

Ceda Jovanovic does exactly what he is told by his colonialist masters. This guy talks about 'ethnic discrimination' even though Serbia is very multi-cutltural and bends over backwards to accomodate its minorities, and is by far the most tolerant country in the Balkans. I guess the Soros crowd tells him to keep repeating these anti-Serb lies and he complies. This is why he has less then 5% of the vote, and it will get lower, and why he should be completely ignored by Serbs.
This guy is not working for Serbia's interests, but against them.

I am of the mind that a society, if it claims to be democratic, should allow its people to peacefully demonstrate whatever cause they chose. If other members of that society disagree with such causes, then just ignore them. That is what I plan to do. I will be nowhere near that parade, because I do not support open homosexuality. The last thing I want is the government in my bedroom. It's bad enough that they are always in my wallet.

I'm in two minds about this.

I mean I'm not sure that Jovanovic should by tying his mast so firmly to the parade because this is likely to increase the numbers of those who would attack protestors.

This is not a LDP issue, it is an issue of society and of a group that has the legitimate right to gather and protest against what they say is discrimination and a weak place in society.

I just hope that this passes off peacefully without criminal activity.

When you think about it this is an example of the law vs what some believe to be gods law.

Islamic fundamentalists say that the laws of the land are secondary to what they believe is god's law. The same is true of fundamentalist christians in the bible belt of the USA or of certain catholicism.

Well, we don't have clerical rule in Serbia, we have an elected parliament that sets laws. And people should obey those laws.

I find a bit funny (to say the least), that with so many economical and political problems people in Serbia is so worried about a gay parade. Oh yes, I might have forget that the best way to overcome an economic crisis is to beat some homosexuals in the street...

I agree, there is no Serbia in EU, there is no democratic Serbia, and there is no Serbia without eradicating discrimination. Discrimination has brought Serbia, but unfortunately also other countries in the region, such as Croatia, BiH and at the end Kosova, into the very bad economical, political and cultural situation that they are today.
