At least Serbia has the option to join the EU at some point, Arta. I cannot say the same for Kosovo.
(Jason, 16 September 2009 16:50)

Why would you say that? I wouldn't bet any money on anything the EU would or would not do. Someone probably said that Nixon would never go to China either in the 70s.

I can assure you Jason that Serbia will never become a member of EU unless its signs a treaty of Peace with Kosova, and that spells in plain English "Recognition of Kosova". Mark my word for it, homeboy.
(Kosova-USA, 16 September 2009 17:14)

Wrong, where did you read this? You must be reading these stories in some fairy tale books because I have never come across this before.

Serbia was told that they need to get Mladic before they can join EU but nothing about recognizing Kosovo as part of that condition was mentioned.
So I would appreciate a link to that statement if you don't mind.

BY the way did you know that Kosovo passport holders have been in China Russia Spain Slovakia Greece Cyprus and Greece?

Its just about time Jason,

I would love to see all the Balkans in the EU, finaly a united front. Im not sure why you cant see Kosovo there, personal reason propobly, but i guess its just an opinion that is a drop in the ocean.

You actually think introducing the euro equals joining the EU? So, if Fiji introduce the euro the are practically part of the European union! And all along Serbia and other countries in the region has been trying to adopt to Western standards by implementing laws about human rights, economic development etc etc. But all they had to do was introduce the euro to join. Sweden, Denmark and the UK still don't have the euro. Does it mean they are not real members?
Great conclusion Einstein!

With friends like these the government doesn't need the anti-EU opposition. They do more then enough to tarnish our governments promise and renege on promises made to get sycophants elected.

Speaking about visa abolition for citizens of Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro, which would allow them to travel to Schengen countries from January 1, 2010, the ambassador said that it was unrealistic to expect the UK, which is not part of the Schengen zone, to decide on a possible visa-free regime for Serbian citizens before 2011.

Now what, I guess back to square one.
Anyway, majority of Serbs do not want to join EU, as well as mojority of Serbs don't want visa liberalization without its citizens of so called "southern province of KiM". I assume things are working out well as to its wishes.

Why do you need to compare apples with oranges?

Oh if it was an option, Serbia would of been an EU member before Slovenia, Just look at Romania and Bulgaria.
The majority of Serbs have consistently voted 60+% for EU according to b92 articles
