Too much hate in the world and people should be free to love who they choose.

I think that it's a huge step forward for certain parties in Belgrade to support the right for these people to march. And I'm sure that the marchers will be responsible and aware that the parade isn't going to be the same as in London or San Francisco.

I really hope that they are protected and not abused.

Nobody would choose to be gay with all the intolerance and bigotry that comes with it, especially in areas of the world where it is less accepted. It's not 'catching' and doesn't affect anyone else.

To the first poster, it is different to heterosexual people marching because they do not have their rights deprived for being heterosexual. Unfortunately certain men all too blatantly display their heterosexuality, often through macho, sexist and offensive behaviour. Thank goodness for intelligent men who don't behave like neanderthals.

Live and let live, love and let love.

If every human being on earth live by the motto of "Live and let live' there will not be the need for any parades to sound the voice of rights of any individual movement. ALL parades including political demonstrations can be in themselves provocative. So let us be wise and let everyone live the life he or she wants. There's nothing wrong or harm done to our world to have same sex couples loving and / or living together. The world is only being destroyed by lack of respect to others ,hatred, wars. polution etc etc. Are'nt all these immoral and sinful???

Thank you, Cedi (or cedo, as they say there) for planning to show your support, and even with family in tow! this is something so typical for most politicians here (frisco) but in belgrade it is truly a revolutionary statement, risky (always risks for cedi), and we really do appreciate it.

when the end of june comes along, Pride Week, as they refer to it here, i always remind people: on the west coast, in a relatively cosmopolitan, liberal city, this is so (relatively) easy you hardly need to blink. but all throughout the world, for doing this very act (walking in such a parade) you could be attaked, jailed, beaten, tortured, murdered... we (in the west) need to remember this, need to remind ourselves, need to be vigilant. freedom never comes easy, human rights must never be taken for granted. never!

good luck to all the participants, and i hope for pleasant weather and, dare i say, good vibes.

and i want the foto of cedi in the parade :))

Slobodan Vuksanović: “it would be stupid to gather a group of men with banners saying ‘We love women’"

Yes, because you don't face being attacked physically or verbally assaulted beause of who you love. Gay men, lesbians and bisexuals live in fear of being true to themselves and falling in love with the same sex.

I'm really saddened by comments on this issue. We're talking about human beings, not some sub-human animals!
