yes, i absolutely agree with the gist of the letter, and as i have said, we will all be watching. it is not just an "internal" affair, as they used to say. the - the govt -- needs to do the right things, and no phony-baloney excuses.

ALL minorities need to be protected, and the bad old days of outright discrimination and worse need to be consigned to the bad old past. is that clear?!

the exact same applies to the upcoming lgbt events in sarajevo. there is no excuse for homophobic violence, i don't give a hoot what day the festivities are held. as my frnd commented, in some countries it is tricky to find a day that is not a religious occasion for SOMEone. whatever problems plague that country -- and they are endless (i will not go into to all that right now), there is no excuse for homophobic violence.

i wish i could attend both events, but the working class has limited options :) even me.

thank you.

The Rainbow Rose sound like troublemakers to me. Gay Pride Parades don't generate greater tolerance for homosexuality. All it does is agitate homophobia and anger residents who are unaccepting of homosexuality. I would rather have every single one of these paraders receive brutal beatdowns than for one police-man/woman to be hurt trying to keep the peace if violence erupts as a result of this parade.
