A bit of topic, sorry.

But why Georgia is not recognizing Kosovo? If Kosovo is so different from South Ossetia and Abkhazia then Georgia should be the first to recognize Kosovo, right!?

But they don't. So why not? Maybe Kosovo is not unique at all?

I would love to see you try to rule Lebanon. I think the current regime would treat you as a joke.

Current regime is one thing, but I can imagine Hassan Nasrallah the leader of Hezbollah hearing news about albanians wanting to rule them.It would take him years to stop laughing.Otherwise It would be advisable for albanians to have a look sometimes at media in those muslim countries where the political elite is not US puppet before posting such childish comments. They could then realize that they are not treated there as muslim brothers at all but the tools of US.

don't worry,if we can not join west,we will look east and south:albanians have ruled egypt with mehmet ali,and have gone to lsudan and yemen§They have ruled libanon with vaso pasha and even afganistan,so the world is wide open, and sure it will be more interesing for us.

Are you for real? East will definatley not bother with you. Egypt has no time for your nonsense either, otherwise they would recognise you.

You are already in Afghanistan but alas as an enemy. No ruling there I am afraid.

It did sound so nice for a while, didn't it until reality hit.

Turkey as it is now cannot join EU. That's clear. The problem is: no one in the EU dares to say. I hope the next generations of leaders of Europe will have the guts to be honest to Turkey.

Hope Serbia and Croatia can join as soon as possible. But I am not hopeful.

Everybody loving international law should make sure that Kosovo can never join!

There are several reasons which will render Turkey's efforts to become an EU member futile.

Firstly, despite the EU bureucrats denials, the union is a Christian club.It suffices to say that the present Pope was a strong opponent of Turkish accession to EU.

Secondly, Turkey is an unstable democracy. Military intervention in political affairs has stopped only very recently but is still prevalent in most spheres of public life. There've been more than 5 army coups in the making in the last 5 years alone and more than 200 army active and retired army officers have been recently arrested in the "ergenikon" conspiracy.

Thirdly, there's still an active war in the southeast of the country with the Kurdish population which is seeking independence. This war has costed more than 40000 lives in the last 20 years. The importance of this cannot be overstated.

Fourthly, with an ever expanding population Turkey will be the most populous of the EU countries and therefore more blocking votes within the EU.Neither France nor Germany will stand forthat.Furthermore,no EU country is going to put up being the host of the surplus of an eternally overcrowded Turkey. The idea of having a number of mosques
in many EU cities will increase the hostility of EU
citizens against Turkish accession.

I'll be surprised if Turkey ever makes it into the EU. Essentially it's a Christian club. If you use the EU's own criteria for joining, then Turkey qualified to join a long time before Croatia, Serbia and all the other countries in the Balkans. Germany, France and no doubt other European countries are afraid of allowing a very large muslim country into the EU. So much for all the preaching about democracy, tolerance, blah, blah, blah. The reality in this world is totally different - if your face fits then get lost, you can't our little club.

I think this also has ramifications for Serbia, Bosnia, Albania, etc. If they believe that by improving Albanians living standards that their birth rate will be in line with EU countries then they'll be allowed to join, if not, then they won't be allowed. If they deny Albania, then they'll deny Serbia so that they don't look to be favouring Christian countries and denying muslim countries. It'll be interestnig to see what happens in the future.
