i'm curious what makes you think other police will want to work with you? oh a signed protocol? you dont respect our sovereign borders that many died to defend. this regime can sign as many protocols as eu likes. sometimes they're worth the paper they're written on and other times they're not.

To satisfy your curiosity... Police officers work with other police to try and put criminals in jail. The MUP officers I know and have worked with want to see drug dealers and human traffickers off the street. Period. I can say the same for honest colleagues in Albania, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Bosnia, etc. Arresting people who victimize others is beyond politics and I personally do not care what an officer's political view is on Kosovo... all I care about is cooperating together in the field of law enforcement. The mobsters in Kosovo do not see ethnicity as a barrier to do their crime, so why shouldn't police cooperate the same way?

"Meanwhile Kosovo Albanian institutions in Priština are still opposed to EULEX signing agreements with Belgrade, and claim that the mission does so "on behalf of Kosovo"."

Of course is does! That's the whole idea of UNMIK/EULEX.

UNMIK and EULEX are governing Kosovo. Time for Albanians to accept that!

lili,

I am not always happy how EU works (to say the least). But in this case they are right: the EU (and UN) is in control of Kosovo. That was the deal in 1999: UN will govern Kosovo. EU is doing practical tasks sine a year.

So yes, I share some of your critique on EU. But in this case: THE WHOLE DEAL IS THAT EU GOVERNS KOSOVO.
So please don't complain if EU is doing what you agreed them to do!

kosovo is serbia. the mup-eulex agreement is just another agreement that reaffirms kosovo as a serbian province. Who did eulex have to get the green light from to enter kosovo?....Serbia because 1244 is still in place.

BELGRADE -- The Serbian interior ministry (MUP) is expected to sign a cooperation protocol with the EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX, during September.

Authorities in Belgrade says this is a technical issue, "since cooperation is already in place".

---
Poor Belgrade, got slapped silly by EU for Bogdanovic's interview now they are trying to spin it. Don't worry, US /EU and Kosova are negotiating an agreement, you will regret those comments you made once you see the new one. You must sign it or no visas of course

For Jason and those who rely on nr 1244:

We survived even in bed times when Serbia had army and police here. Be very sure that we are here ready to die for our country if needed.EULEX if you plan to be like miloshevic police you know what will happened. You know we are ready to give our lives for our country .....

one more protocol and we will have the impression that we have gone back to milosheviq area, when he was deciding that our parlament will not exist anymore!
your next step,yves,isn't?
(lili, 5 September 2009 21:47)

With all your due respect, to move backwards you have to move forward first which you didn't for the last... (choose the number of years)

Your analysis is correct, you do not have a govnt, never had and will never do, just get it in your head, just one rule 1244, it is written on all the walls, just open your eyes!!!

KOSOVARi

When over 13 months failed with the Serbia over the status we STILL made the BIGGEST COMPROMISE ever regarding the Constitution of Kosova which gives minorities (esp serbs) more rights/power than any country in the world, period.

The people of Kosova, it's institutions, and their representatives will not SIGN such protocols.

Perhaps, we will sign it after the 5/27 EU countries recognize us. :)

They also object that the announced protocol "will not be signed by Kosovo".

For God sake, let this muppet show govnt put they signature somewhere otherwise they will have a nervous breakdown.
At the end it will not change a thing to the bleak kosovo reality, 1244 is the number of the game!

Ok, one protocol with Serbia and also at same time an MOU will be signed between Kosova Police and EULEX Police by next week. The said MOU stipulates that EULEX Police are forbbiden to pass any info to any country including Serbia, concerning police matters without the consent of KP. Now WHAT???
